Democrats Don’t Fear Brett Kavanaugh, They Fear The Constitution (Repost)
Federalist ^ | July 10, 2018 | David Harsanyi

(The other day) Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was in Israel to receive an award for her commitment to tikkun olam (“to heal the world” in Hebrew,) a spiritual concept that progressive Jews have long (distorted) so that their malleable religious views could better align with leftist orthodoxy. It’s the sort of convenient philosophy that allows traditions to be subsumed by the vagaries of contemporary politics.

So it is with an increasing number of Democrats and the Constitution: a document they seem believe must bend to the will of their policy preferences rather than preserve legal continuity, limited government, individual liberty, or enlightenment ideals.

Sure, some of the anger aimed Donald Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is partisan bluster meant to placate the activist base. Still, most Democrats were going to get hysterical about any pick, because any conservative pick was going to take the Constitution far too literally for their liking. For those who rely on the administrative state and coercion as a policy tool — (forcing people) to join political organizations........

The conformation of Judge Cavanaugh to the SCUSA is not about the man but what he stands for...THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION. All this unseeingly vulgar smearing by our elected is FEAR OF OUR CONSTITUTION.... the Progressive Party (Democrat) has become Socialist (small 's') but actually Marxist. Diane Feinstein was unaware she employed for 20 years a Chinese spy...they thought alike....all are liars...and I would tell that to them to their faces.

“FEAR OF OUR CONSTITUTION”

More like hatred and contempt, from where I sit.

Both applicable, though.

Really, really bad things happen when countries with good (or even just passable) Constitutions allow them to be subverted, or twisted for current convenience. The rise of the 3rd Reich in Germany is a very educational example...

Our US Constitution has served us well over the centuries. Sure, it could use an update here and there, but for the most part it’s as solid as the day it was finished. Same goes for the Bill of Rights.

I suggest those who don’t like it to catch the next plane, train, auto, or boat out of our country because they don’t belong here.

“More like hatred and contempt, from where I sit.”

Precisely. The Constitution prevents them from fulfilling their Messiah complexes by advancing an oppressive nanny state in which they are the nannies.

Wasn’t it Ruth Buzzy Ginsberg who advised Egypt to not use our Constitution when developing their own? How the H*** does a Supreme Court Justice get away with that? Oh wait, I almost forgot, she’s a Democrat and Democrats can do anything they want and then escape accountable.

ALL of our elected and appointed ignored that the Constitution says that Barack Obama cannot be President.

British subjects are NOT natural born citizens.

Anyone born with multiple citizenships is not naturally an American.

Natural born citizen have only ONE nationality.

That was the whole point of using those words.

They want to rewrite the Constitution. Maybe they want one like Switzerland’s, where I read this morning that they have just added an amendment to their constitution declaring bicycle ownership to be a fundamental human right. Good grief.

Have you seen the cost of bikes lately? Can almost get a Vespa for the price of a bicycle.

But always remember

Daisy, Daisy give me your heart to do
I’m half crazy, hopeful in love with you
It won’t be a stylish marriage
I can’t afford the carriage
But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two

Obama should never have been allowed to usurp the office.
The Constitution says he can’t be President.

Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009, happened with the complete cooperation of both parties.
They want the Constitution changed without the hassle of amending the Constitution.
Confuse people about the clear meaning of a three word phrase and voila, every anchor baby and Winston Churchill is eligible.

The bench was the reason the GOP went along with the fig leaf resolution for McCain that was used by the Democrats as cover for Obama.
Jindal, Rubio, Haley, George P. Bush and Cruz were all up and comers and the future of the party and ineligible.
