To take the vote and have Kavanaugh NOT make it would be devastating for him, Republicans, and America. The left would be celebrating and empowered for even further destruction.
If this was a slam dunk, Grassley would have taken the vote. The only reason this is going on is because of turncoats like Collins, Murkowski and Flake. I hope the midterms takes care of this thin margin problem.

This will occur as a continuation of the hearing to consider the nomination of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to serve as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Following Dr. Ford’s testimony, Judge Kavanaugh will appear again before the Committee.
Chairman Grassley has also postponed the Committee’s vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination previously scheduled for Monday.
This morning, following a phone call between the Chairman’s staff, the ranking member’s staff and the attorneys for Dr. Ford, the Chairman’s counsel sent a note to all parties finalizing the agreement to testify. It reads in part:

The Chairman asked me to relay again that he will do everything in his power to provide a safe, comfortable, and dignified forum for Dr. Ford to testify. I have noted the issues that you raised on the call. But again, as with any witness who comes before the Senate, the Senate Judiciary Committee cannot hand over its constitutional duties to attorneys for outside witnesses. The Committee determines which witnesses to call, how many witnesses to call, in what order to call them, and who will question them. These are non-negotiable.

I wonder if we the people could not sue her. Supreme court justices have great impact on our nation. I wonder if her lying shenanigans to prevent us Mr Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court would constitute damages.
I strongly doubt she will ever testify under oath, under penalty of perjury.
I’m only reading the stories and am not listening to Limbaugh, but apparently he’s been saying that if Grassley/Repbulicans cave, then they’ll lose control of Congress. I’m sure there are some that will got so mad and frustrated that they stay home. But, the longer this goes on the more it should enrage all of us TO SHOW UP AND VOTE and keep Republicans in control, no matter what wimps they are.
Because, as you and I know, even a ‘Flake Republican’ is, more times than not, better than any Dem.
The election in 2016 was the most important election, in the US, in the previous 24 years, IMHO. The one coming up this November has knocked that one down to Number #2. This election is THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION this country has ever faced and will face. It will determine the path this country takes going forward and the Democrats and the Radical Left, know that better than any of us. If the Republicans hold Congress and start supporting the President, the Left is pretty much done and they know it. The only thing they’ll have left is, violence, as they won’t be able to get anything else done. Especially with President Trump. If Republicans hold Congress, I’m thinking he’s replacing Ginsburg, Breyer, Thomas, and possibly, Sotomayor.
And if God is willing, that is all she wrote for the Left. Which they know and why they’re doing what they’re doing.
But, to answer your question, I don’t think the name or presence of this former Prosecutor/Investigator is relevant. Who cares who they are. I only care about the fact that the other side is scared sh*tless of the fact that this individual is on Kavanaugh’s team. All the other stuff is proving to be false. As for Grassley, I’m hoping that will all the things being proven false, that he’s strengthened and will push this thing forward.
I thought I was being bold when I said on Sunday that she won’t testify. Now it’s like saying the sun will set in the west today.
The amount of baloney rhetoric coming from the left, from “the R’s are done if they confirm him” to “Ford was afraid for her life” to “I have solid witnesses that are coming forward with evidence” is all - ALL - bluff. And lousy bluff at that.
Ford wants the meeting rigged so her lies will not be exposed.
I agree. Her husbands comments about her being so afraid she wanted to leave the country if he was confirmed - before she made her allegations - pushed this thing into crazy territory.
I’m embarrassed I took her seriously even for a minute.
Sounds like lawyer Bromwich is trying to lessen the importance of this. When this is VERY IMPORTANT...IT’S AN APPOINTMENT TO THE SUPREME COURT.
His background with the FBI is showing. He thinks he can influence, and yet, other lawyers are not to be trusted.
