Sort of interesting that we would Want the WASP to visit-
WITH their detachment of the latest F35 Vertical Stealth
planes onboard?— how about Singapore? or Manila? instead-

The ultimate goal is to expel the US Navy from the Western Pacific.

They want us tooling around by Wake Island, Midway, whatever.

But nowhere near real commerce.

Wait.. there’s a ship called the “Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group”? What, did USS Wasp collide with all of her escorts?

Maybe Beijing is worried that the very public Navy trangender ‘Harpy’ something or other, is on that ship and will ‘demand his/her rights’ to come ashore.

Not everyone in the world is keen on flaunting the rainbow.

If this should be the case, maybe Bangkok would be a better call.

Maybe we should refuse porting a few dozen trinket loaded super freighters.

Not ALL of the OOD's in the surface navy are females, nor are all the officers in CIC females.

Therefore not all OOD's involved in surface collisions cry at their court-martial.

If you’re referring to Subic Bay, I believe we have resumed using that base on a smaller scale since 2015 or so (based on a 2012 agreement). All contingent upon the Philippines government giving prior approval, of course - and I’m not sure where the current government stands on that subject.

maybe Bangkok would be a better call.

A recent ex-Navy acquaintance mentioned several times how the girly boys in Thailand were so common. I'm not sure his contact with them was any "deeper" than just seeing them from afar.... It is a different Navy than the one I was in.
