Feinstein accuses Kavanaugh of misleading Senate
The Hill ^ | 09/26/18 | Brett Samuels

Posted on 09/26/2018 6:18:59 AM PDT by yesthatjallen

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) alleged on Wednesday that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was not truthful with senators earlier this month when he said he never violated grand jury secrecy laws during his time working for Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr.

Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, told Politico that she obtained a memo from the National Archives that showed Kavanaugh instructed a colleague in the Starr investigation two decades ago to call reporter Chris Ruddy about matters before the grand jury.

Such an action would violate laws that prevent disclosure of grand jury information. Feinstein claimed to Politico that the memo also conflicts with Kavanaugh's testimony earlier this month that he never broke those rules.

Politico reported that Kavanaugh's request to call Ruddy related to questioning of grand jury witness Patrick Knowlton.

Knowlton claimed to have seen someone in Fort Marcy Park shortly before White House lawyer Vince Foster was found dead there in an apparent suicide, which was reviewed as part of Starr's investigation.

Democrats have attempted to argue in recent weeks that Kavanaugh was not entirely forthcoming in some of his answers about his time in the George W. Bush administration during his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

However, those claims have been overshadowed in recent days by sexual misconduct allegations from two women against Kavanaugh.

Christine Blasey Ford alleged earlier this month that Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed and groped her during a 1980s high school party.

A week later, Deborah Ramirez went public with an allegation that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a college party in the 1980s.

Kavanaugh has denied both claims, and said he will not withdraw his nomination. He and Ford are set to testify on Thursday about her accusations.

Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on Tuesday rejected Feinstein's calls for the testimony to be delayed until an FBI investigation is ordered and conducted.

Next thing you know she will accuse him of employing a Chinese spy for 20 years.

Did Feinstein’s Chinese employed chauffeur give her the information?

Note, the old witch has already pivoted off the "drunkz & slutz" attacks, onto "grand jury leaks." This tells you they will use ANYTHING to get Kavanaugh.

And it should be noted that the Demonrats are the kings of leaks. Yep, experts in leaking to the media.

Yes, I suspect they bring up lots of new things, throw lots of mud tomorrow to see if anything sticks. It is not going to be pretty. Doubtful that Grassley can keep committee in order.

Kavanaugh instructed a colleague in the Starr investigation two decades ago to call reporter Chris Ruddy about matters before the grand jury.

LOL! So at worst the "colleague" violated such a rule, not Kavanaugh

If the memo says Kavanaugh instructed a colleague to call a reporter about a matter before the grand jury, that doesn’t necessarily support the contention that he leaked grand jury testimony. He could have told the colleague to find out what the reporter knows or to remind the reporter that the office can’t discuss grand jury testimony. I assume the memo doesn’t detail the substance of the discussion between colleague and reporter. And who wrote the memo, Kav or the colleague? ChiDiFi worried about lying and integrity makes me laugh.

IMO something has this woman spooked.
She acts more and more clueless/reckless each week.
I can't wait to see what next week brings.

“Perhaps we should look further into her Chinese spy issue while we’re at it.”

Perhaps it will be investigated when we eventually get an Attorney General.

Did the “memo” have that same, funky, mis-matched font thing going on that Feinstein’s letter from Dr Ford has???

Sounds like someone, Feinstein, might have already committed a fraud upon the Committee maybe?

“DiFi has no business lecturing Kavanaugh on on honesty.”

She has no business being a senator. Should be brooming men’s jackets in a Paris water closet.

Yikes, this really puts doubt on whether Frankenfeinstein will be voting ‘yay’ for confirmation on Friday. Hopefully, Grassley has enough votes without her.

Count all Dems as No..... Real question is will all R’s vote yes

Once you look at the Dem lineup its a horror show.

The Repubs to me have 2 questionables

Sasse & Flake - both Never Trumpers to me....

DiFi is one person who would never survive scrutiny of her own public record. You have to dig deep to find nothing on Kavanaugh, but scratch the surface of DiFi’s activities as a US Senator, and you’ll hit a mother lode of criminality and ultra corruption. She knows it too. This woman has a lot to hide as so many other Rats and Repukes in DC do too!

Her terrible behavior has little to do with Judge — soon-to-be Justice — Kavanaugh, it’s that her poll numbers still show her re-election is still in big trouble because Democrat/Leftists think she is not far-enough Left.

Nice observation. Reestablish your street crew..

Also, DiFi.... you are 85... Maybe its time for something other than Politics.

After all you and Hubby have milked it for a long time.

PS Calling Robert Muller.... Anxiously awaiting your investigation of the alleged Chines infiltrator of DiFis office. How many state secrets were given, or $$$ exchanged for...

All we need is for Trump to throw it out there in a tweet to freak her out.”

Oh sure, Jeff will take the hint and snap to.

Feinstein is as full of $hit as a Christmas turkey.

What really floors me, though, is that these leftists actually believe we're blind to their shenanigans.
