Attorneys head to court Thursday to argue over whether a criminal case should go forward against a former Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot an unarmed Australian woman who had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault in the alley behind her home.
Mohamed Noors attorneys maintain he acted reasonably July 15, 2017, when he shot Justine Ruszczyk Damond. Theyve asked the judge to dismiss the charges. But prosecutors say Noor acted recklessly in using deadly force against Damond, a 40-year-old life coach and dual citizen who was engaged to be married.
Here's a look at the issues in play in a case that has drawn international attention:

They're trying to have all charges dropped. The judge can set a trial date tomorrow.
Justine Damond update ping.
On or off this ping list, give me a shout.
Update on the murderer Noor (victim Australian Justine Ruszczyk Damond)
An IQ of 70 is considered very low.
Average IQ of Somalia
The average IQ score in Somalia is 68. A moron is defined as a person with an IQ score of 70 or below. That means the average Somali is a moron.

I just recently retired. Worked with a Somali engineer for nearly 20 years.
Smart guy. Worked hard. He assimilated. Living the American dream.
Oh, and conservative. Not your typical ‘Skinny’. Actually, he could stand to lose a couple of pounds...
He’s the only Somali I’ve ever met that does not fit the pattern.
Thank you.
You’re in.
There should be updates tomorrow after the court session.
Obviously a great oversimplification but I could actually, kinda understand a defense for Ms. Guyger.
Not understand it well ... but compared to discharging a service weapon directly in front of your partner, inside a car ...
thanks, I don’t expect to see any measure of justice...
Well then arrest, and try the a-holes who allowed him to stay on the job, especially after a psychiatrist gave a bad evaluation of him, along with the fact that one of the complaints filed against him was that he had put his service weapon to a civilian’s head that he had stopped for a traffic violation. The powers that be ignored the recommendations of the psychiatrist, along with the problems he’d already had on the job, because they were so intent on hiring, and keeping a muzzie on the force.
I think his is past it's expiration date.
I work with many morons. Some of them are perfectly nice people.

He killed the person who called in a domestic assault.Manslaughter at the very least.
Have you ever been in a vehicle when a firearm went off?
I have.
I’ll NEVER forget it.
I don’t hunt with those people anymore.
;-)
If Justine's boyfriend walked up to Noor and blew him away, I would maintain he acted reasonably.
That's why I think that his case makes even less sense that Guygers.
Do police even discharge a weapon without PPE anymore? It's very instructive just how loud it can be.
In Guygers case I expect that manslaughter will also be sought.
But in Dallas they at least had the decency to fire her.
I didn't say it was a good defense but it is all that I have heard that is any way is a defense.
In both cases the police are closing ranks behind the shooter. Neither case in in the least bit justified. But it wouldn't surprise me if both got off. Police have walked for less. It's just the way it is.
So far the big difference is that the Dallas Police Dept fired Ms. Guyger after her indictment, which is in line with personnel rules. I do not know if she is union but FOP helps set rules for all police employees.
In MN the state is actively blocking for the defense of Noor, at least behind the scenes.
Noor was fired.
