I think she has had mental issues for a long time. Hence the alienation from her family. Notice the absence of her parents at the show. They probably wanted nothing to do with it. Apparently, she comes from a good family that could afford to send her to very expensive private school.

She is damaged goods. She is/was also a slut. 54 sexual partners in high school. That is 9-10 a year. She was supposedly called the 19th hole a the private country clubs of Maryland. She most likely has/had serious alcohol/drug problems. She also most likely suffers from depression or is bipolar or worse.

Either that or she is a brilliant mastermind actor genius.

Even if the accusation were true it’s stupid. I’ve had worse involuntary sexual touching done to me by both men AND women, quite a number of times, and in no case did I care at all past the point of rejecting the behavior and re-establishing my personal space. It’s pretty normal to have this kind of thing happen in bars and nightclubs and other places where there is heavy drinking and the associated lack of inhibition.
Without presuming to denigrate a woman’s feelings, I do think that the Democrats have assigned pretty much infinite significance to the charge. I mean, in any decision the significance of it is the seriousness of the issue times the certainty that the issue is or will become real. In a “he said, she said” situation certainty is not available, and you have to consider “how important is this if it is true” as well as, “how likely is it that it is true.”

In the case of deciding to buy a cup of coffee, the cost is certain and small, an impulse buy. Deciding to buy a luxury car, the cost is certain and not so small - big decision. Buy a lottery ticket? Cost isn’t a lot, possible payoff huge - probability of payoff essentially nil.

The Republicans should simply point out that, on this charge, even if it is true Kavanaugh didn’t start WWIII. But if the vote is delayed, on the available evidence we have to assume that within two weeks Kavanaugh will have “been the mastermind behind 9/11,” in another month he will have "bombed Pearl Harbor," and in another couple of months he will have “sunk the Lusitania."

This story was easy as pie to make up. Using the ol’ repressed memory meme, she could easily just not remember what it suited her to not remember

Exactly.

Her story perfectly describes what cannot be corroborated and skips what can. Total fabrication.

You're right that it could just have been something she came up in therapy.

But why was she in therapy, and why is she the way she is - squeaky little girl voice and nervous mannerisms?

I'm not a mental health professional, but (assuming it's not all a put-on or a reaction to having to testify) those can be signs that someone was deeply damaged early on in life.

Childhood abuse is a possibility, and investigators usually start looking within the family.

If I said she had been a victim of incest and left it at that, I was wrong - incest would limit the suspects to a few names and they might all be innocent.

But I don't think I was wrong to mention the possibility that she was abused, and I still think that line of speculation is not just less objectionable, but more relevant and more to the point than going down the nutty nympho slut route.

Laura Ingraham guest Joe diGenova calls Christine Blasey Ford “a deeply troubled person,” with “a history of psychological discord”

Most likely he's right, but that PGA snickering was unworthy of him.

There was an article published in the WP a few days ago that discusses the Blaseys and their lack of public support for their daughter.

She grew up in a family of three children, with two older brothers, both of whom went to Landon. Her parents are registered Republicans.

The article indicates that she doesn’t get along with her family that well, although she still travels once a year, with her children, to visit and go to the Country Club.

Perhaps she experienced some early trauma, or perhaps she led a very privileged life, and was spoiled rotten. Either could explain a lack of maturity.

As for the anxiety, I am not entirely convinced that most of it wasn’t an act.

There was something off about her personality during the hearing, but I can’t point out exactly what.
