The Democrats Have Been Using This Playbook for 50 Years

Posted on 09/29/2018 8:55:07 AM PDT by cotton1706

Some history.

In 60's, a major issue was appointing "strict-constructionist" justices to the Supreme Court.

In 1968, CJ Warren decided to retire (in part to prevent a possible Nixon presidency from replacing him - the two hated each other).

Johnson then appointed associate justice Fortas to be Chief Justice (Johnson had himself appointed Fortas, after creating an opening on the court by appointing Kennedy appointee Arthur Goldberg to the United Nations).

Fortas was filibustered for being corrupt and candidate Nixon said that the winner in November should fill the vacancy.

Nixon won and appointed Warren Burger. Then Justice Fortas had to resign, creating another opening for Nixon.

Nixon's first appointed Clement Haynesworth, who was rejected by the Senate, then the senate also rejected Harold Carswell (basically in revenge for filibustering Fortas' elevation to Chief Justice). And guess who was chairman of the Judiciary Committee at the time? Ted Kennedy! Kennedy wasn't going to allow Nixon to appoint any conservatives to the court! So to fill the vacancy, Nixon turned to Harry Blackmun, Warren Burger's childhood friend. And Harry Blackmun gave us Roe vs Wade!

Nixon got two more appointments in his first term, Lewis Powell and William Rehnquist (and the Senate tried to stop the Conservative Rehnquist but was unsuccessful).

Fast forward to 1987. Lewis Powell retires, so Ted Kennedy went into action again. We all know that story, they defeated Robert Bork, then Douglas Ginsburg was withdrawn for smoking pot in college, and we got Anthony Kennedy, who upheld Roe vs Wade and gave us lots of other liberal opinions.

So in addition to trying to keep this vacancy open till beyond the 2020 elections, the democrats secondary plan is to get the republican president to appoint somebody THEY can accept. Otherwise, there'll be hellfire!

The only time we got a MORE conservative appointee AFTER moderate was appointed was in 2005, when conservatives rejected the appointment of Harriet Miers, and Bush was forced to withdraw her, and appoint Samuel Alito (who authored the decision that led to Planned Parenthood vs Casey going to the Supreme Court, where Roe vs Wade was upheld by Anthony Kennedy, O'Connor and Souter).

We successfully got Alito on the court, but Chuck Schumer has repopulated the senate with militant leftists.

78% of the democrat caucus has been elected since the Alito hearings, which is why NO democrats will vote for Kavanaugh unless they are hiding behind moderate republican skirts (that is, Flake, Collins and Murkowski).

It's a sordid history that's been going on for a LONG time!

And with Lewis Powell's seat opening up once again, it's the battle royale! But unfortunately, we have the weak links in our midst, whose elections were secured for this exact purpose, to stop the advance of conservatism (liberal Frank Murkowski appointing his daughter to his senate seat, then the Establishment protecting her from Joe Miller in 2010 and got her reelected; and they handpicked Jeff Flake out of the House).

Correct assessment, cotton1706. Sen Murkowski’s only wish is to punish Republicans, every possible way.

And another part of the playbook, is to bring up salacious charges against a Republican nominee, AFTER the hearings have been held.

The Anita Hill situation timing was exactly what we saw in this case with Kavanaugh. The Anita Hill allegations came out in that time period AFTER the regular set of hearings on Clarence Thomas’ nomination, but BEFORE the Senate voted on the nomination.

Sound familiar? We went through Kavanaugh’s hearings, we saw Cory Booker have his Spartacus moment and all that, then the hearings were concluded.

Then, AFTER all of that , but BEFORE the Senate vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination, that’s when the Christine Ford story broke.

Aren’t both of these just too coincidental, that the sexual misbehavior allegations just happen to come out after the hearings were over, but strategically happen before the Senate votes?

I have said it before, I will say it again. This whole thing is not about Kavanaugh, it is not even about POTUS Trump. It is about the Constitution. The Constitution was written to limit the power of the government. Kavanaugh and POTUS Trump want to uphold the Constitution as written. The rats can’t have that.
BTW, if you think this is bad, just wait until Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg goes room temperature. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Smoking pot in college

How quaint, now we've had several Democrat presidents who smoked pot AND snorted coke and that a current judicial nominee drank in college makes him a lush, angry, and a rape facilitator....

Also similiar to their 2006 playbook of making sex corruption charges as an October Surprise to convince ‘evangicals’ to sit out the election.

Seeing a lot more websites encouraging young people to register. Soundcloud’s banner said that the current government likes their low rate of participation “and wants to keep it that way”.

They’re accepting it because many of the DC Repukes are compromised and in bed with the Democrats in The Swamp.

Yup. That’s it in a nutshell. The Democrats want total power for themselves in the federal government and to destroy all opposition to their tyranny, but that “damn thing” called The Constitution stands in their way!

LBJ, Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden.
They knew were all the bodies were buried and pretended they were only interested in protecting the people.
All three were very dangerous.

I’ve said for years that “democrats are much better at being democrats than republicans are at being republicans”. Even after the big divisions caused by Obama in 2008 and Bernie in 2016, they came together around their candidate and aside from internet sniping, put forth a unified face.

Republicans are constantly forming circular firing squads, mostly over “he’s not conservative enough” factions who absoluetely do not support the candidate. NeverTrumpers are nothing new, just the latest incarnation of “divide and fail”.

Republicans seek ideological purity first, and to win second. Democrats seek to win and hold power above all else.

I’d like to be proven wrong but there are decades of examples to prove this is the case.

With Trump we have a new kind of Republican, one who would normally be shunned by the GOPe, except for one thing: he won. And he wins all the time. Most of his policies turn out to be “conservative enough” but that’s not enough to satisfy the firing squad members who will not unite behind him til they are out of bullets or dead (the more likely outcome).

A very carefully crafted and much refined playbook, ‘tis a shame its existence and application were denied for so long.

The legacy of Ted Kennedy casts a shadow yet today far greater than ever his own presence did.

"The Democrats Have Been Using This Playbook for 50 Years"

Yes, but it's different now, more intense.

They smelled success in 2016. Trump foiled their evil plans.

Now they smell both success and defeat.

Expect them to stop at NOTHING to force their evil plans on the United States.

NOTHING is beneath them--war--violence--the destruction of the entire United States.

Expect the earth to be scorched!

They will stop at NOTHING!

They learned it while on their knees before Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria

What about Roy Moore? Whatever happened with his accusers and story?

This whole smear against kavanaugh must make people think twice about what happened to him.
The accusations against him were very sketchy and low credibility.
