More than 650 law professors sign letter stating Kavanaugh lacks ‘judicial temperament,’
Washington Examiner ^ | 10/03/2018 | Diana Stancy Correll

More than 650 law professors, including 13 affiliated with Yale Law School and 21 with Harvard Law School, have signed a letter to the Senate arguing that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh should not be confirmed because of his “lack of judicial temperament.”

The professors pointed to Kavanaugh’s appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week amid allegations of sexual misconduct, where the Yale Law School graduate defended himself and called the attacks a “grotesque and coordinated character assassination.”

“The question at issue was of course painful for anyone. But Judge Kavanaugh exhibited a lack of commitment to judicious inquiry,” reads the letter, published by the New York Times on Wednesday. “Instead of being open to the necessary search for accuracy, Judge Kavanaugh was repeatedly aggressive with questioners.

“Even in his prepared remarks, Judge Kavanaugh described the hearing as partisan, referring to it as ‘a calculated and orchestrated political hit,’ rather than acknowledging the need for the Senate, faced with new information, to try to understand what had transpired,” the letter reads. “Instead of trying to sort out with reason and care the allegations that were raised, Judge Kavanaugh responded in an intemperate, inflammatory and partial manner, as he interrupted and, at times, was discourteous to senators.”

The letter states that judges are required to step aside if there is the possibility that they may be viewed as or display impartiality.

“We have differing views about the other qualifications of Judge Kavanaugh,” the letter states. “But we are united, as professors of law and scholars of judicial institutions, in believing that he did not display the impartiality and judicial temperament requisite to sit on the highest court of our land.”

“Will be interesting to see which schools should be burned to the ground. So to speak.”

Don’t you find the fact that there ARE 650 Law Professors disturbing in and of itself? I do. I’m with Al Pacino on this score. Like he said in “The Scent of a Woman” he’d take a flamethrower to the place!”

When there are 5 to 7 conservatives on the SCOTUS, recommendations from these 650 professors will be the kiss of death for clerkships.

Of course they are saying that - the universities are what’s wrong with this country.

My first thought was putting them on a calving glacier and giving them their diplomas to use as flotation devices.

Trying to make another pantywaist our of a genuinely good and honest man. He had every right to defend himself. Bet these same jokers are against the 2nd Amendment too. His temperament is just fine with me. Honest outrage is an indication of strength of character.

None of these professors have the temperament to judge any sitting judges. Why don’t they leave their safe spaces and become judges themselves?

Dershewitz refused to sign it and filed a complaint. He now refers to the ACLU as the ANTI American Civil Liberty Union.

And that is a big thing for Dershewitz. He was a big supporter of the ACLU in my opinion. If you have lost Alan...you are done.

What's the phrase? Those that can, do - those that can't, teach?

Do these idiots even know that Kavanaugh already IS a judge?

It’s shocking to me that law professors can be such total idiots to stake out such a position and actually affix their names to it in writing. While I take no surprise in how utterly inane leftists can be; these are professors of law. This a stark reminder of the power of propaganda over these people.

They’re bureaucrats, pure and simple. Bureaucrats hate Trump. They may be called professors; but they’re bureaucrats.

It always looks stupid when you have a cadre of people who are supposed to have one job, such as being a general in the army, a police chief, an FBI or CIA officer, then you watch them in action, and all evidence points to the fact that they are bureaucrats to the core. Such placeholders are worthless at what they are supposed to be doing. They build their empires, cover their asses, and go into action against anyone or anything which threatens their phony-baloney jobs, and the bureaucracy itself.

The title of this article should really read as: “”650 Marxist/leftist ethically corrupt shisters call for Kavanaugh to pull his nomination”.

Yale and Harvard? Pleazeee! The twin homes to a long list of Communist traitors/Soviet spies and Communist Party affiliated lawyers from the National Lawyers Guild, the National Emergency Civil Liberties Committee (both cited by Congress a CPUSA controlled), and the NLG’s creation, the Marxist Center for Constitutional Rights. Will throw in a few black attorneys who graduated from those schools who are/were members of the Soviet-front, the International Association of Democratic Lawyers and its US affiliate, the National Conference of Black Lawyers (who are also members of the Cuban/Soviet Association of American Jurists).

I suspect a good number of red/pink active/retired law professors from Rutgers, Princeton, NYU, John Jay College of Law, NWestern University, UCLA and the Un. of Wisconsin are on the list (I haven’t seen it yet).

Also the leftist darlings of the ACLU, past and present officials, teachers, etc.

Now you know why the US Constitution is under severe attack. These idiots follow the Marxist Constitution- deconstruction line like a chicken follows a line of corn.
That is why the legal profession is such a stinking mess.
