Polls this year show that Democratic voters have become "energized" enough to swing control of at least one branch of Congress in the coming midterm election.

But data from past midterm "waves" suggest that Democrats could be headed for a disappointing November.

The left will go bonkers if Reps hold the House and Senate.

It would be a sight to behold. Only thing better than that was Trump winning in 2016.

Wow...the media (D) is really pushing this narrative today. Must be worried.

Frankly even if the dems take control of the House it might not make a lot of difference. There are a good number of moderate and even conservative democrats in the House. The dems need more than the bare minimum (13?) to really cause the White House a lot of problems.

I wish the recent hearing and the exposing of the absolute scum dem pols happened closer to the election. Swing voters usually have memories of fruit flies. Midterms average around 40% eligible voter turnout. I wonder what it will be this time.

>>It would be a sight to behold. Only thing better than that was Trump winning in 2016.<<

Yesterday was up there.

I think the Justice Kavanaugh debacle energized a LOT of people in Real America. I think watching a good man dragged through the mud for something he did NOT do (assault) and what 99.9% of all kids do in HS/college (drink) POd them.

The GOP needs to strike while the iron is hot and tell America — this is what these people will do to YOU if you do not subscribe to liberal orthodoxy.

Like the “Arab Spring,” the “Blue Wave” was a media creation, nothing more.

No because as we have seen the Dems vote as their party leadership directs.

There is NO upside to the D winning the House. Controlling the purse and the ability to manufacture Witch hunt “investigations” would be a disaster. MUST hold both chambers

The left will go bonkers if Reps hold the House and Senate.

If the Republicans hold both the house and the senate, the Dems will become even more irrational and out of control than they are now. They will then see the 2020 Presidential election as their last chance to regain power. I expect the Democrats to have a crowded field vying for the 2020 nomination for president. The various nutcase factions within the party will each believe they are the only one who can save the party. Consequently the fight for the nomination will become a bloodbath. The 2020 Democrat Convention will make 1968 look like a church picnic.

Because they saw the internal polls, there was NEVER a blue wave, it was total BS from the start..will they take some house seats, probably, but it was never the tidal wave the commie media said would happen

I had a pollster call me two days ago - my local congressional race is very tight.

So this time, I told them I was a high-income, teenage, hispanic lesbian, with a positive image of Trump, who plans to vote for the Green Party.

Let them put that in their algorithm.

Good post.

CNBC is written for liberals. Hope they are disappointed enough to just stay home in Nov.

The Right is charged up and will show up to vote seeing what nutjobs the left is turning into.

The Left can not be allowed to have the keys to the car.

The polls were always faked and the Kavanaugh savagery just gives them an escape hatch. Now they can say to Dems “Hey you were on your way to a big win but you blew it with the Kavanaugh crap.”

We should not become complacent. Make sure you get your conservative friends to vote. Make sure Grannies absentee ballot isn’t used by Rats at the rest home.

N-i-i-c-e deconstruction....deserves a repeat:

If Republicans hold on at midterms, power-starved Dems will become even more irrational and out of control.
The 2020 Presidential election will be seen as their last chance to regain power.....a crowded Democrat field will vye for the 2020 nom.
The various nutcase factions will each believe they are the only one who can save the party.....heck, even Obama will surface to "save the day."
So Dems' fight for the nom will become a bloodbath. Their 2020 Convention will make the 1968 rampaging mobs look like a church picnic.

BOOKER'S FAMOUS LAST WORDS (just before he got voted out of the Senate and became a Uber driver).

"We're sick and tired of the Constitution sitting in the National Archives manipulating everything we do."

======================================

NOTE: Judiciary Booker took 17 minutes to voice his opposition to Kavanaugh---every word a campaign slogan.
Booker then skedaddled to Iowa to make an appearance.

People who for years were fence-sitters and nonparticipants came out in droves for Trump, finally a person who appealed to them.

The connection is a little more tenuous now, as Trump’s name is not on the ballot anywhere, but Trump has unashamedly been asking for the return of those who voted for him in 2016 to step up and support the candidates who supported Trump in this latest ordeal.

After all, what have you got to lose?
