Jordan Peterson has been praised many times as a great and fair anti-feminist and even as a conservative. But it appears that he really is, first and foremost, a jealous foreigner (Canadian university psychology instructor).

"less divisive"

Bullshit.

The "division" was entirely caused by Diane Feinstien and Chuck Schumer, entirely for political purposes.

This is disappointing on its face, but I can imagine its having been said within the context of mulling over various ways of dealing with the mob lynching of BK ‘issue’.

Hopefully he’ll receive enough ‘instructional’ email etc to revise and clarify over the next day or two.

I have completely ignored this clown because I knew he was a Trojan horse, and he just proved me right.

Does he say who a more appropriate Justice would be? And, Kavanaugh’s name is clear, he has no asterix in my book.

Ping. This rather flies in the face of what Dr. Peterson so strongly “preaches”. What do you think, Rooster?

Jordan is dead wrong here. Surrendering or stepping down to clear one’s name never works. You give your enemies what they want and they will not care about the truth.

Half of this country has excepted evil and given up on Christian values.
We have become Sodom and Gomorrah and you know how well that turned out.

Go and watch some of Peterson’s videos. He is an awesome advocate against the left and a defender of Western Civilization. I don’t know why he made this ridiculous comment about Kav as it seems completely out of character and against everything he stands for. In any case it would be a huge mistake to throw him overboard without a lot more information.

I bought a few of his books because he was being trashed by the left. After his rant, no more. I didn’t even like his books - he dumps thousands of words on the page with no apparent meaning. He goes on and on, blathering about nothing. For a while, you think he’s saying something, but he isn’t. I threw away his book in disgust.

Jordan Peterson thinks out loud on many occasions; and the leftists hate him even more than they hate Trump. I’ll give Peterson some slack. I also assume he will announce a rethinking of a 2:00 a.m tweet when he was likely very fatigued.

Isn’t it easier to just throw Justice Kavanaugh down a Well?

If he downs he is Innocent, if he survives, burn him at the Stake.

I have watched many Peterson videos and find him to be wise and eloquent.

His background is as a clinical psychologist and a lecturer in psychology. His focus is on the individual not on specific institutions.

Peterson's response to the Canadian law mandating the use of various pronouns was to refuse outright, even if that meant that his university would fire him or that he would go to jail.

I think he was looking at this situation with his focus on Kavanaugh's welfare and not that of his supporters.

One claim that the liberals have made is that Ford had nothing to gain by coming forward. That, of course, assumes that she doesn't benefit from frustrating the efforts of Trump and his followers to control the Supreme Court. It also ignores the adulation and other rewards that Ford gains from the liberal establishment.

If Kavanaugh were to step down it would cost me some heartburn while I pondered whether Trump and the Senate could replace him in a timely fashion without other costs. It would only cost Kavanaugh a job, albeit a job that he and similar judges view as the absolute pinnacle of a legal career.

If Kavanaugh steps down, he makes a statement that there is nothing more valuable than his good name. He demonstrates that he does not value his personal promotion above the good that comes from truth and justice. He points the finger at those who conspired and lied in their somewhat successful attempt to smear him.

I realized early on that Trump was facing what amounted to a win-win situation with this divisive process. If, has happened, Kavanaugh is confirmed, Trump wins.

If Kavanaugh had been successfully blocked then the election in November would likely result in a gain of 3 to 5 seats in the Senate, ensuring that Kavanaugh or someone else would be seated in January and that a replacement for Ginsburg would be that much easier to seat (if my dreams are realized).

I don't claim to be an expert on Peterson, but I will provide a short summary of what I think his position is.

Peterson believes that humans have inherited traits which make them competitive and which cause them to feel inner rewards when they are successful at achieving valuable goals.

Because of these traits, humans support the creation of hierarchies of more capable achievers receiving benefits that less capable achievers don't get. With such hierarchies humans benefit individually and collectively.

But there's more. Peterson also believes that hierarchies can become tyrannical. Those lower on the ladder can be victimized by those higher up. (Think Paula Jones and Bill Clinton.) And some people will simply be so uncompetitive that they cannot survive at all. For example, a person in an iron lung might die very quickly without aid that is not tied to their ability to compete with others.

Peterson's belief is that the place of conservatives is to support the hierarchy. That of liberals is to question the treatment of those who do not benefit from the hierarchy. The healthiest society is that which peacefully exists between the two extremes. Both conservatives and liberals can go too far.

Because liberals are the ones going too far in western civilization as we speak, it appears to some that Peterson is a conservative.
