Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in a new interview that he may be willing to consider a Supreme Court nominee during the final year of President Trump's first term. Well see if there is a vacancy in 2020, McConnell said after Brett Kavanaugh was officially confirmed as the newest Supreme Court justice, according to The Associated Press.

That’s not the way that I read it.
Sorry, too old.
That fourth year thing only applies to the second term.
The question was a trap.
The headline was fun to misinterpret.
YMobviouslyV.
He kept mentioning that when the Opposing Party of the POTUS runs the Senate, they haven’t put through a Nominee in the Presidential Election Year since the 1880s.
That Historical FACT applies to BOTH Political Parties and preempts the so called Biden Rule.
Poor Chris Wallace just couldn’t quite understand the point.
***************************************************
Wallace was being DELIBERATELY OBTUSE...he understood the point exactly but he wanted to cloud it for the audience.
Heres hoping for MANY Republican Senate pickups next month. Then we can really give Cris Wallace something to talk about.
We need an Asian appointed. Little di-k and all. Affirmative action critic. Watch the left eat him alive to their own detriment.
I think Turtle is growing a pair.
Some reporterette asked if Ruth Buzzy resigned whether he would favor a conservative to replace her. He almost fell over laughing and said rather emphatically “OF COURSE”.
Loved it!
Young people, not old. Live longer, stay on court longer, keep court conservative longer.
Uh NO. The Turtle will NOT be nominated to the SC.
I got Kennedy 1988 (Reagan with Dem Senate), and Brennan 1956 (This was a recess appointment - Eisenhower with Dem Senate, Brennan not confirmed until 1957).
I count about 10 others where the President and Senate were controlled by the same party since 1796.
Fortas not being elevated to CJ in 1968 - Johnson with Dem Senate - the nomination might not have been scuttled without the southern Democrats.
I was just going by what McConnel said on FOX News Sunday when he was talking to Chris Wallace.
“If things go well it may be sooner than that.”
From the look of her tonight at the Swearing In Ceremony, my bet is Ruthie takes a dirt nap within the next year. But the better question to ask is what constitutes dereliction of duty as a SCOTUS Justice? I mean how long can she stay if she is as incapacitated as it appears?
He’s been unreliable in the past on very important issues.
No.
McConnell was right on the mark when it really counted.
He and the rest of us have our big-kid boots on now, might as well keep slogging through another sh@tstorm from the left and get it over with.
NO.
