If that were to happen Democrats would once again self-immolate in front of the American public only to send an impeachment bill to the Senate where it would NEVER get 67 votes.

It depends on what information those favoring impeachment have on each senator. Photos, documents, money, and the threat of accusations (true or false) can be used to influence voting. Almost every politician has a price.
I believe the Republicans will pick up seats in the Senate. That said, I also believe the Democrats do not have to get 67 seats to convict. If they manage to get 55 there are enough Republicans that will take a Democrat gain as the Will of the People that they will side with the Democrats and convict. I also do not believe that DJT would allow it to get that far. If it is necessary for DJT to become Caesar he will become Caesar. The situation is existential. Even in the extreme, however, I believe that he can handle things and turn the Democrats in on themselves and shut them down without going full Caesar.
