President Trumps ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki R. Haley, has resigned, leaving the White House with one less moderate Republican voice on his cabinets foreign policy team.
Ms. Haley, a former governor of South Carolina, had been an early and frequent critic of Mr. Trump, so when he named her the envoy to the world body weeks after his election in November 2016, the appointment was seen as an olive branch.
The daughter of immigrants from India, Ms. Haley favored free markets and global trade and earned international attention for speaking out against the Confederate battle flag in the aftermath of the 2015 massacre at a black church in Charleston.

She wants to take a break from politics. Shes worked for 8 years and it just burned her out.
Lindsey Graham gets AG job
Graham said he is not interested in a cabinet level job.
haley is staying through the end of the year. Will be interesting to see who gets that job. Does not sound like Trump has a choice in mind right now. Maybe out trade rep??
More Cow Bell!
Haley did well at the United Nations. Not an easy assignment.
I thought she did a great job. She was clear. She was forceful. She represented Trump and America and democracy and Human rights very well.
I actually wonder if her departure means that America is going to change its role in the UN. Bolton has very negative views for the organization as a whole. Trump may want to lower its value within the US government.
Not a natural born citizen.
She was born of two Indian nationals as an Indian national.
If her parents had returned to India when she was little, she wouldn’t be an American at all.
It’s rare you have a UN ambassador serve an entire term.
As usual, the NYT misunderstood and misstated the relationship between Donald Trump and one of the formerly unenthuasiatic members of the Republican party conglomerate. Nikki Haley may not have gotten on board in the early days, but she became a most loyal supporter of the Trump Train before the UN, and even carried a lot of water in getting some of their hypocrisies out in the open.
It is not as if Ambassador Haley came to any great schism of opinion with President Trump, but a decision that was agreed upon to shift tactics somewhat at the UN. Whoever is sent in as her successor will build on the progress made already in, if not turning the UN around altogether and making them fly right, at least get them to not be a total drag on the entire Human race.
Not eligible.
Not a natural born citizen.
Interesting, it fits for South Carolina, and McCain’s dead.
“She was excellent in that role and a thorn in the side of all the NWO wannabees.”
Trump is the thorn in the side of the NWO. Haley was only a voice for Trump. She has no inherent power of her own in that job.
The Slimes article is extremely negative, only pointing out rumored and confirmed differences between her and Trump, ignoring their many common points of agreement and her overwhelming success at the U.N. The Slimes is despicable.
She will run for President of the United States.
The idea of being the first woman president would appeal to a woman like her.
You will know this is true when she goes on record in the coming weeks as being “troubled” by something the current president does. And by her new-found fondness for the people of New Hampshire.
Haley is a pro-amnesty establishment RINO.
Thanks...but a big NO THANKS.
America needs conservatives in Senate & House - not more RINOs.
Oh Please, Pretty Please.
Two years under very extreme circumstances and the sea change Trump brought to the world stage...including the the Jerusalem embassy move.......she has been a trooper.
She gets an A+ grade....and has performed much better than I ever expected.
Even as the news is just getting out, the rabid dogs of the MSM are falling all over themselves to get her on their shows to elicit any negative comments about DJT
I know I am playing small ball with this, but we must thank Nimrata for launching two plus years of vandalism and screaming anti-white progressive activism from Florida to Maine over monuments and war memorials to the long dead veterans and other historical figures. She is effective, perhaps, when given a task to carry out. Otherwise I think she is basically unprincipled, as you said, “ungrateful;” she is poison.
Of course she is. So is Graham.
Is there anyone of political prominence in South Carolina who isnt?
The whole state has always been politically dysfunctional, IMO.
Just thinking out loud...
