OFFS! Srsly MD? Seems like all our FReepers in the NE quadrant of the country need to head west somewhat. No doubt my kin are spinning in their graves in the Hudson River Valley of NY due to what's become of where freedom for this country started. Look at it now. Shameful.

How can it be protected when you have to have your guns locked up, with trigger locks and in a lockable gun case, and your ammo stored elsewhere under lock and key?

This is great. I can see all the gangbangers and hoodrats standing in line to get their permit.

These dumbasses coming up with this need to have a required 30 day training program on the Constitution...

Knowing of course that not many people can take a month off from work to take the course

Guaranteed that even the police going through the academy don’t spend thirty days on firearm handling. Any necessary safety training could be accomplished in a couple of hours.

How about a month of special training to have an abortion then, since we know abortions are always fatal.

We of course expect robbers, burglars and home invaders to be courteous and wait 30 days until we get our house defense in order.
And when they do show up, we expect them to patiently wait 10 minutes or so while we locate, unlock and load our weapons.

Gottlieb said the training requirement in Maryland imposes a burden on a citizens ability to exercise his or her Second Amendment rights. This is more than a burden. This is a PROHIBITIVE burden.
This 30 day training requirement is designed to be more than a deterrent it is designed with the knowledge that few people will be willing or able to devote the time and expense to complete the training.

Despite our RAT governor and lawless State Police PA still has strong 2nd Amend support.
Western MD has more in common with PA than it has with Baltimore.
We will gladly trade Filthadelphia for Western MD.

30 days of training would surely disenfranchise people...
If simply having to show ID to vote disenfranchises people...
Overall though, I kind of doubt that courts would rule that requiring training is too much of a burden.
But who knows these days?

In GA you have to be able to prove you can carry the gun out of the store. 😄

Seriously? Cops don’t get 30 days of firearms training before they’re sent out to enforce the law. Hell, most of the cops and agents I’ve worked with hated their recurring qualification requirements, much less firearms training.

I agree with training but this is obviously a cost and time prohibited measure to prevent access to guns.

well, we could always counter with 30 days of training required to vote.
Gun rights are in the Constitution - Voting rights are not.

In WV we have constitutional concealed carry. Only training required is for age18-21 if they want to carry conceal. As for as home access, um well everybody has guns in WV, and one always loaded on the front porch during deer season or for varmints of any type. Training here is primarily parents teaching their kids to aim small and pop bulls-eyes.
What is notable we have 0 problems. Absolutely NO incidents or issues with constitutional carry since enacted. No surprising since that is the same everywhere else with proper law.
My only conclusion is that the politicians and the pig metro cops in Maryland are racist regressive fascists who have to constantly lie to get their way. May God grant them horrible painful deaths for their sins.
