I remember my old man telling me that after he came back from the Korean war and went to college he attended history classes where the prof would make some statement about the depression or WW2 or something and the 18 years olds would nod and write it all down. He'd raise his hands and say "I was around then, that's now what happened" and get into arguments with the prof.

I imagine going back to college to take classes as a retiree in 15 years and listening to the prof tell me what a dictator Trump was just so I can tell him how full of BS he is and explain what really went on to the kids around me. I'll gladly take the F.

I went back to graduate school in my 40s for MA US History. I was older than all the students and professors, except for one prof.
They were all super bright, but they had no common sense or larger perspective.
I had to remind them every week that “the devil is wise not because he is smart but because he is old.”
It was all quite fun.
