The military objections are The most serious.

Yet:
A. The California Coast has 39-0 D & R in the House. And that group has an inordinate power over the country.

B. The 20 Senators from Maryland to Maine are all liberals. And that group dominates the Senate.

C. The voters in those states aren’t going to change. Not this century.

When Trump gets re-elected, this topic will be on the frontburner

You can add the 2 from Virginia since our commonwealth has been hijacked by the Marxists in northern counties that are sucking on the federal teat around D.C.

If there is any secession, Virginia should lop off everything from Fredricksburg north and include Albemarle County.....call it by its real name, NOVA.

Save the Union by removing part. New England cannot be saved, reformed, or reconstructed.

Let them join with the Maritimes

We can live without Boston. U.S. has to keep Seattle or San DieGo or both.

The Homo-radicals run these states. And they want the whole country. They are coming for the children. Secession gets them out of the Congress

The gangrene is pretty bad, I’m not sure we can save the arm (or the butt cheek if we are talking about New England).

"Nuke Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and L A. and the entire problem would go away."

You joke...yes? But I will say this... I think Kent State ended what was the crazy hippy movement of the 60's... I'm I wrong..?

Here's a small quote from a very long article from "From the Right" website on the subject.. It's a bit dated, but very interesting...

"Consider:

* "The majority of the Blues strongly favor significant redistribution of wealth, partly by a steeply progressive income tax, and partly by other means."

* "The majority of them are internationalists and multiculturalists."

* "Despite paying lip-service to the idea of constitutional government, the Blues never let the Constitution get in the way of policies they favor, but constantly interpret it to mean whatever they wish. Among numerous examples of this are:"

o "The decision by the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade (1973), a decision that overturned all existing states laws on abortion. (While one might believe that such laws were ill-advised, there is certainly nothing in the Constitution that prohibits them.)"

o "Perhaps even more extreme was Wickard v. Filburn (1942), which largely eliminated the restrictions placed on the federal government by Article 1, section 8 of the Constitution."

o "Most Blues seemed quite ready to push the health care bill through by a vote “deeming” the Senate bill passed, without the House of Representatives ever taking a direct vote on that bill. (Faced with public outrage, the House leaders eventually backed down on this procedure, but not because of any constitutional scruples concerning it.)"

o "The majority of Blues approve of the federal and state governments mandating racial preferences and quotas, even though such laws clearly violate the equal protection clause of the constitution."

* "Despite their claims of being opposed to racism (often expressed very sanctimoniously), the majority of the Blues are, by our standards, racists. That is, they strongly favor laws and policies—such as racial preferences and quotas—that deprive some persons of jobs, promotions, college admissions, and scholarships just because of their race. These preferences and quotas were first instituted about forty years ago and have gradually become more and more pervasive.

". * "Despite paying lip service to the notion of freedom of speech, in practice many of the Blues often favor censorship laws of various sorts, such as repressive “speech codes” on college campuses and laws banning “hate speech.” College speech codes, usually adopted by a vote of the faculty, typically a very liberal group, provide a clear indication of the way most Blues view the right of free speech."

"Where does this leave us? Very simply, we do not want to live in a country dominated by such people, and we do not want to bequeath such a government to our children. For that matter, the Blues don’t like us much either. Many of them consider us to be racists, religious fanatics, stupid, heartless, and corrupt. It is, therefore, time for a divorce. Just as a husband and wife with “irreconcilable differences” are often better off living apart, so the Reds and the Blues would be far better off if we split into two separate countries."

Good list. Covers most of it.

Incompatible is an understatement.

Well put it this way, if say Vermont decided to up and leave, would I support invading them to keep Sanders and Leahy in the Senate? How could I? Price of maple syrup goes up, so be it.

I guess this doesn’t jive with my pro-union stance during the Civil war. maybe if I had lived back then I’d have been all “Let the bastards go”, who can say.

On the other hand would I spill rebel Mexifornian blood to maintain control of the port of San Diego? I would, I’d seize and occupy whatever territory I deemed necessary, a strip along the border with Mexico to prevent “flooding” which could spill over into other states. Occupy all the nice little counties in the interior (and Del Norte on Pacific coast) that wouldn’t want to secede, create “East California”.

Hawaii? Aloha, we keep the bases though. It would be funny seeing the locals attempt a Fort Sumner.

We are not there YET and you could be right it may NEVER happen but I certainly can’t rule out the left seriously considering succession if they keep losing. And if they start winning we may need to kick them out. At some point subtraction would become addition as sad as it may be.

“Europe” is “progressive” democrat majorities in Congress and the electoral college, better disunion than that. Better a military dictatorship than that. Better anything than that.

Years ago, both myself and Clintonfatigued discussed the reality of expelling states. Not so far fetched now, is it?

Carve out a new state consisting of either Northern CA and/or OR. There’s your Pacific port access.

Hawaii would end up being like Guantanamo Bay - US base(s) on a Communist island state.

Barring a complete reset happening, I can’t see how the country can stay together on its current course. It can’t.

You may very well think that but if democracy results in us being slaves of a socialist government then it has failed and Churchill was wrong. There may come a time when force is needed to prevent common gutter trash who are nothing but a drain on society (and may not even be citizens of this country) from getting the same say in electing the government as decent people. Democracy is not a suicide pact.

We aren't there yet, I pray we never get there.
