I love most of what Kurt Schlicter writes, but I do not want to hear about rejoicing in their pain. Let’s rejoice in our victory, the defeat of their evil. Not in their pain.
It takes a lot of guts, a strong mind, and a well-functioning sense of morality to argue with mob mentality, whether it’s on the left or on the right. It’s usually we on the right who do that arguing against the left, but now that we are winning (Wow!) we need to resist the temptation to devolve into the mob mentality and behavior that the left has been immersed in for all these years.
Let’s enjoy our victories. I don’t even mind a bit of gloating. But let’s not enjoy another’s pain. Some Schadenfreude might be understandable, but sadism is the very definition of evil.
