Given for informational/comparison use only.
I do not advocate that anyone should use cannabis.
Check out prices from B.C growers and their stock.

Soon, Federal restrictions will be removed in the US.

While some states will choose to NOT legalize it, they will be inundated anyway. They likely are now.

And you’ll have to move to a country that doesn’t allow it, or just put up with it.

The nice price.

But not in Ohio...

In California, every adult citizen can grow 6 plants to maturity in their backyard...unless prohibited by local ordinance. That would be a code violation, not unlike raising a couple of chickens where not allowed.

But every resident in every jurisdiction can grow 6 plants indoors.

And keep the proceeds from those 6 plants. That could be 1-25 pounds of trimmed buds, depending.

Additionally, ever resident is able to have up to 1 ounce in their possession outside their home. And every resident is entitled to gift up to one ounce at a time.

This winter, after the harvest, drying, trimming etc. California will be literally swimming in pot. FAR, far more than the state stoners can consume. And the wholesale price for legally grown will be zip dot nada.

And the legal commercial sector will be completely wiped out. Enormous losses.

Nevada has an almost identical law.

legalizing use, although the liberty-respecting thing to do, will do nothing to reduce the value of black markets. Only legalizing sale (and keeping sales taxes non-extreme) will have that effect, as consumers turn away from the criminal market to the legal market.

I looked at the legal weed prices. $80 for a quarter ounce.

I'll bet that wherever it is that this price is being charged, some consumers are paying it - which represents money out of the cartels' pockets. Of course, as I noted, that effect would be even greater with lower sales taxes.

Also note that in Ohio, which you were apparently referring to, marijuana is legal only with a state medical marijuana card - which is much more restrictive than what anybody means by "legalization."

I don’t recall where the dispensary was that I found that price. Still a lot of money for a little bit of weed. I worked at a car dealership in the late ‘70s with a guy who was in the army who said when he was stationed in Germany, pot was $20 for a matchbox sized portion. Ow!
