It is weird. It sounds callous, but to me, murder is murder. What difference does it make because someone is murdered because of their sexual orientation, skin color, or gender? They are still dead. It isn’t more or less horrible, it is still murder.
This whole business of “hate crimes” really rubs me the wrong way. If someone commits a crime, you prosecute them for that crime. Period.
“Hate Crimes” have an Orwellian odor to them.
Yes...I was getting confused thinking it was the same guy who had a shrine to him, but...the story said he was murdered in WY. They both have shrines I guess.
I was going to say, I thought it was strange the guy was being interred in the National Cathedral because he was a brutally murdered homosexual, but, on reflection, there isn’t anything Godly about that church, if some of the things I have read the last few years are any indication, so it isn’t like they are compromising someone’s principles or risking any accusations it is inappropriate to do that. It is who they are.
I guess I should be relieved they didn’t put him in Arlington.
