“federal police”

Well, that’s a little unsettling.

According to wiki, most of the police forces are at the state level, but the Federal Police are responsible for rail, airports, and ports, along with some other specialized duties.

The left wants to get rid of our system of local police and sheriffs and replace it with federal police. Having local police is a bulwark against federal tyranny. In training, police (at least in some cases) are asked if they would obey the president if he ordered them to arrest someone. The correct answer is “no”.

Germany is roughly half the size of Texas with two times the population. German federal police would be roughly the equivalent of State Troopers or Texas Rangers.

Why? You do realize that the German federal police would be a mix between say, the FBI and your state troopers? It's half the size of Texas, is a sovereign state within the European side of the continent, and originally came about as a Confederation of several of the small fiefdoms within the German area. "Federal" is an apt description for their State Police.
