Most powerful one I can remember recently was Trafficant from ohio. He’s the one with the dead squirrel on his head.
Blago the ex Governor of Illinois was bad for obama because he tried to sell obama’s Senate seat.
Still in prison too I think.

The most powerful Democrat I can think of was Dan Rostenkowski, representing Chicago and was the chairman of the House Ways And Means Committee.
He was indicted for his role in the House Post Office scandal, and was taken out by the up and coming Eric Holder in 1994. Rosty served 15 months in federal prison in Wisconsin.
