Tell ya what. I’m going to wait to see his decisions on the cases that come before the Supreme Court before I decide that he was a bad pick. Call me crazy.

I don’t have a ton of confidence that he’s going to be like Thomas or Scalia. He’ll follow the law and follow precedent, and probably vote with the conservatives in contested cases. That’s fine for how. Swapping out RBG with Amy Barrett will be when things really start to shift, but I think Kavanaugh was the right choice for now. He united the Republican Party going into the midterms.

This is why replacing RGB is the real key to getting the court on track.

Just as a conservative is often a liberal who has been mugged, an originalist justice may be a moderate one who has been defamed.

The truth is Presidents have no say what justices do.

If the Federalist Society isn’t good enough to vet federal judicial nominations, then we might as well hand the picks over to Chuck Schumer and DiFi.

Cause you can never tell how mainstream they are.

The first line of this fabrication told me all I needed to put on the brakes, and move on down the page to read hopefully something that wasn’t total BS.

He’s not an originalist, he’s a precedentist.
He will uphold precedent, even when it’s wrong.
Roe v Wade is in no danger of being over turned.

On the bright side, Heller and McDonald will be upheld.

All I want is someone who interprets the Constitution and not someone who makes up law from the bench. If we get that we will move towards repealing Roe v Wade because there is nothing in the Constitution to support it. And they know it.

I’m pretty sure his attitude has changed since he saw the democrats accuse him of gang rape. Payback is a bitch.

A very honest article, but Collins’ speech shouldn’t be the first time folks talk about Kavenaugh’s regard for precedent. I listened to his senate hearings and heard him discuss Roe. He clearly stated that Roe was precedent on precedent.

It’s not new what Collins said.

Nor does it mean Kavenaugh is not a constitutionalist.

Well, Hillary could have picked a Eric Holder as a nominee!

GOP would have confirmed him...too...

Trump picked him because Trump didn't want a huge fight with the Democrats over confirming him. Kavanaugh and Merick Garland voted together 93 percent of the time when they served together on the DC circuit.

Trump got a huge fight anyway. This is probably a learning experience which Donald will remember, that trying to play nice won't work.

Amy Barrett is OK on abortion and some social issues. However I don't trust her to follow an originalist philosophy. She brings to the table the mom with trendy and fashionably politically correct "fambly". I suspect on many issues she will caucus with "the girls". You know, "for the children".

I would go ask Clarence Thomas who HE would like to see on the Supreme Court.

"They pledged millions to defeat her in her next election..."

Sen. Grassley, bless his soul, said he would raise that and more to help her win in her next election,

Those tacky women protesting are a disgrace to their sex, they're an ugly lot in both manner and appearance.
