As NATO prepares for its biggest military drills in more than 10 years, elements of the U.S. Marine Corps are preparing a rehearsal amphibious landing on Iceland before performing it for real on the beaches of Norway during the upcoming Trident Juncture exercise.
Some 2,000 Marines and sailors with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked recently on the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship Iwo Jima and are currently headed towards NATO’s extreme north to prepare for their amphibious assault, the Marine Corps Times reported.
During a 10 October media event, Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert B. Neller would not speculate on anyone’s perception of the planned amphibious landings during Trident Juncture, except to say the exercise — which is expected to feature some 40,000 NATO personnel — has been years in the planning.

Eh. I wouldn’t be that worried about Muslims in Western Europe. They’re annoying, but they don’t have the numbers to take over the continent yet.....maybe in 100 years. I think more of a immediate threat is Russia. When you and I go to bed, don’t be surprised to see the Russians overrunning NATO defenses in Eastern Europe. What would we do then?
The Russians haven't been able to overrun Ukraine or Syria despite years of trying.
I don’t know if you have followed the news lately but basically Assad won the Syrian Civil War. Now he’s moping up the remnants of the rebellion in the country. Oh Ukraine? Russia annexed Crimea which was their objective.

I know, I have been there. Loved it.
I just can’t get as worked up about Russia anymore as the boogeyman. When they institute Mohammadanism as their state political cult, then I will worry.
They are re-enacting the British invasion of Iceland (1940)...
