Voters Will Punish Dems for Depraved Treatment of Kavanaugh
Washington Post (amazingly) ^ | October 17, 2018 | Marc Thiessen

Posted on 10/17/2018 8:40:07 AM PDT by Lazamataz

Just a few weeks ago, analysts thought that control of the U.S. Senate was in play this November and that momentum was shifting to the Democrats. Thanks to their brutal campaign of character assassination against now-Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, those chances appear to be slipping away.

Yeah, I do as well. It’s just too late in the game for that big reckoning to come after 2018 and before 2020. They will cruise to another loss in 2020 - perhaps a devastating loss (under 200 EVs). And that is the time when the reckoning - and the internal destruction and eventual rebuild will need to begin. The Republicans were taken over and saved by Trump’s hostile takeover in 2016. Maybe that will happen to the Democrats (it sure as Hell won’t be that mush-cake Bloomberg). But I suspect they will have to tear it all down and build up again - or move entirely away from democratic constructs and become violent revolutionaries. Either way, they will be in the wilderness for awhile.

Thiessen chronicles the slide for other states as well. Truly the Dems deserve to lose for 1000 reasons, but the post- Kavanaugh Show Trial backlash certainly gives us a big 1001.

`

"With Tennessee slipping out of their grasp, the Democrats’ chances of a Senate takeover are slipping as well. Among vulnerable Democrats, it looks as if Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) is a goner. After the Kavanaugh hearings, her Republican opponent’s lead expanded from four to 12 points. If she goes down, Democrats will need to pick up three GOP-held seats to win the majority. That does not appear to be happening, as races have shifted toward Republicans in Texas, Nevada and Arizona — the states other than Tennessee where Democrats have pinned their hopes for flipping GOP-held seats.

“That must mean that their internal polling is showing an absolute implosion.”

Thiessen is a mainstream Republican. His Oped should not be construed as a shifting/changing position by the Post.

They occasionally allow mainstream Republicans space to opine.

Sadly, most voters probably still don’t know who Brett Kavanaugh is

38.6% say "backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers"

You are correct on that. Hugh Hewitt turns up in the WaPo as well.

This not the Washington Post reporting staff or editorial board admitting wrongdoing by democrats. This is an opinion piece written by long time conservative contributor Marc Thiessen. Big difference.

Interesting tidbit from O'Keefe on Breitbart this morning. He said that his exposure of Bredsen staffers had played widely on Tennessee local media. So, the non MSM may be wielding more power than the big dogs. Especially when telling the truth.

“This is what the RATS do when they need to pad the upcoming results with “excuses” why they are going to lose.”

I thought it was “russia, russia, russia” ... wonder if anyone will have the unmitigated gall to try that one out again ...

In the wake of the Kavanaugh fiasco, 58 percent of Tennessee voters say they want Republicans running the Senate.

Democrats earned this loss... handed us a win on a platter.

A red wave is coming, picking up seats in the Senate and holding the House.
