Sabato: Democrats 4 seats short of locking down House win
WASHINGTON EXAMINER ^ | 10/18/18 | Paul Bedard

...“A race-by-race analysis of Democratic House targets shows the party is close to winning the majority, but they do not have it put away, in our judgment, with Election Day less than three weeks away,” said Kyle Kondik, managing editor of Sabato's Crystal Ball in his new post.

...the Democrats in a worst-case scenario could be four seats shy of the needed 23 needed to install Rep. Nancy Pelosi as speaker.

Of course there are caveats, such as the impact of the huge influx of money to Democrats and President Trump’s decision to campaign furiously through Election Day, but the analysis is a bit of a wet towel on polls and reports declaring a blue wave blowout election.

Nonetheless, he predicts a good night for Democrats.

“Barring a big, positive late change in the political environment in favor of Republicans, the bare minimum for Democratic House gains is in the mid-to-high teens.

How gross that NJ is going to, imo, overwhelmingly re-elected Menedez. Bad as DC putting Barry back in office. Dems have ZERO standards or ethics. This is why you get the worst leaders in Marxist ran govs.

IF PDT has 36% approval rating from African-Americans, and I believe the numbers aren’t far off, then the Dems have to be in big trouble....

Reminder, just a week ago he was saying that the GOP was delusional if it thought it could hold the House.

“We lost Garrett’s seat in 2016 and we have no hope of getting it back this year.”

I’ve wondered how that happened.

Wasn’t Garrett’s seat one of the more GOP ones in NJ?

To: SoFloFreeper; everyone

Democrat House Incumbents & Candidates are awash in MEGA-MILLIONS thanks to a trio of radical Left-wing billionaires who are desperately trying to BUY back the House for the Old Witch Pelosi and her evil crew.

BUT FOR their MEGA-MILLIONS, I would bet good money that the Republicans would hold the House and they still might, IF ALL OF US TURN OUT TO VOTE!

“If PDT has 36% approval rating from African-Americans...”

Regardless of whether its 20% or 36%, I really hope a large shares of those same blacks are pulling the lever for a GOP candidate next month. That is the big IF right now.

Sabato should be selling mutual funds. He likes hyperbole and he likes to pump up his product. But, watch for his final prediction for the House. He will have at least 20 races rated as toss ups, too close to call. He will be right with all of the rest, but he will not make a call on the 20 races that will decide who controls the House. If he can’t figure out in November who will win the House, then he can’t figure it out now either.

By the way, right now, no one knows who will win the House, and that will probably be the case in November, too.

Even if that number is correct it doesn’t necessarily translate into 36% of blacks (or anything even close to that) voting for a Republican for House or Senate or Governor. Even if it turns out to be 15% that’s a big increase from the usual.

Leaving the safety of the Democrat plantation is obviously not an easy thing for them after being brainwashed since birth by their “peers”, the entire “mainstream” media, the educational system, etc., and casting a ballot for any candidate without a “D” after his/her/its name will likely be very traumatic.

millennials should be voting GOP.

because of President Trump, the Deep State is being exposed, slowly but surely, like never before and the young - especially the Bernie crowd - should be 100% determined not to let them crawl back into their caves, helped by a majority of Dems in the House/and or the Senate.

yes, more should be out in the open by now, the guilty coup-plotters should have been indicted, but there are those in both parties, who have slowed down the process til the mid-terms, hoping they can take control and, once more, protect the Deep State.

you would think the so-called “progressive” liberals, and all the libertarians, would also make sure this doesn’t happen.

this is the best opportunity to slowly unwind the Deep State, but only if the GOP maintain control of the House and the Senate. all freedom-loving, democratically-minded people should take note.

Election Day is so much calmer now that I work the polling station (as a Registrar Moderator) - it's an exhausting day but I have no idea what is going on the nation during the day.

The blessed day Trump was elected I didn't get home until almost 11:00 and went right to bed. But the next morning - WOW!

Ooof ..... the Dems lost Larry!?

If he says 4 seats, the Dems are probably short at least twice that much, based on his previous prognostication record.
