This report is certainly a far cry from what weve been seeing in terms of how other U.S. and foreign media are covering the Sino-U.S. relationship. But theres no reason to doubt its credibility because some of the particulars were publicly supported in the story and by noted China/Asia experts.
For instance, President Xi has not reacted tactically or strategically, Willy Wo-Lap Lam, a senior fellow at The Jamestown Foundation, said at a conference last week hosted by his think tank. Lam is a well-known and respected China analyst.
He also said Xis response has caused doubt among some within the Chinese Communist Party who, Lam says, are concerned that he does not have what it takes to parry.
Its the most serious crisis faced by Xi Jinping in last six years, Lam added.

I suspect that they, along with many other competitors and adversaries to the US, are waiting on the results of 11/6, praying for a Democrat victory.
They have an enormous image issue right now. The Chinese military is under scrutiny for spying on major American businesses by tampering with our circuit board supply. That’s not something to be taken lightly, esp. since the US Navy, the CIA, and NASA were impacted.
Donald's not gonna take that sitting down.
I fear they are doing more than “praying”.
All of this in under two years. Just imagine if we had effective, pro-American presidents for the last 28.
I wonder, just what sort of relationship with DOD, do the Chinese have, and why? The Chinese certainly do not have our best interests at heart.
Willy Wo-Lap Lam....
Bet you can’t say that three times fast.
Chinese President Xi and China has been benefiting from the treasonous fire sale on American prosperity by the financial class to make a quick buck. Once we take care of the China problem Americans need to address the treason of those who enabled this fiasco to happen. I’m talking about you Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Obama. Your retirement is not going to be restful or pleasant.
Nixon started the whole thing.
.
“Nixon started the whole thing.”
You are right about that. As a legislator, Nixon had no clue about how to be a leader and how the realpolitik actually works. The idiot douchebag even tried price controls.
They bought all the right people, put the right spies in the right places, cornered the right markets, stole all the right technology, gained control of all the right industries and were marching towards surpassing us economically and militarily sometime in the not too distant future.
Then Trump was elected. For the first time they face a US President that isn't 100% predictable. One that isn't owned by them or by people they own. He's doing things that are making them go off their script and they have no idea what to do.
I do not think I agree with that.
When America first opened to China, the relationship was not like it is now. It became a massive sell out, later on.
No it was not a massive sell out then.
But it certainly is now.
I am impressed that some on this thread recall the treasonous act of Billy stain Klinton and Loral. Chicom enablers of multistage rocketry now directed our way.
It was the Klintons—rockets headed our way for cash headed Klintons way.
Imagine the sheer incompetance of our US Congress.
They allow vast spying.
Useless.
