P Bush finally got his way. Viv la Mexico!

I'm voting straight GOP at the mid-terms except one Independent vote against P Bush.

The San Antonio City Council approved a $450 million redevelopment plan for the Alamo

I would've thought San Antonio would be more likely to tear it down than to redevelop it.

I figured the liberals would bulldoze the site and put in a minimall.

Me too. Alamo Plaza is a very unique place. Years ago before the Riverwalk hotels got so expensive I could go to SA for conventions or training leave the hotel with a cup of coffee and sit in Alamo Plaza at 6 AM and think about the battle that was fought where I was sitting.

450 million? For that kind of money you would think that they were relocating the entire Alamo and putting a giant dome over it. A lot of well-connected snakes are going to be making a lot of money through graft.

As a lifelong San Antonian, I wait with trepidation. The current site is in fact totally stupid.

I've taken so many people from out of town down there (I live on the North side). It's totally bewildering to stand there while they look at the Chapel door and sigh, “just think it all happened here.” I almost feel guilty to tell them, “actually almost nothing happened here, but see that building with the silly museum, and that building over there that used to be a Post Office, that's where it all happened.”

I don't mind them changing the site to something more realistic, I just wish I had more confidence in the people in charge of doing it!

Headline is wrong, San Antonio did not approve this, our city council did over our vocal objections.

Is there a reason why the Alamo has never been made a National Historic Site, under the Department of the Interior?

The Alamo, I think is owned and/or managed by a group of women like at Mount Vernon.

I suspect that the globalists want just one more sign of American/Texican independence must get the old heave-ho.

George Pee is gonna make his mark.

People are legitimately concerned that moving the Cenotaph will damage it. Moving it away from where people died is disrespectful.
