“How many times will they have to use their Garbage bags?”

I like the idea of banning a bunch of single-use plastic items. Gotta be reasonable about what’s banned.

The paper industry needs to step up. A friend that works in the paper industry told me once that a huge frontier for them was creating a paper soft drink container that could contain pressurized CO2. Maybe paper on the outside with a thin plastic sealer on the inside.

Bunch of idiots. The ball point pen I’m using is single use. The cup for coffee is single use. The fan on my desk is single use. Get it? They meant well, but are showing their stupidity.

The problem is that the plastic things are released into the environment. I see plastic bags blowing around. The problem is people, not the bags.

Single use plastics are sinful

The sin is using petroleum to make plastic that is dogmatically declared as polluting. The petroleum pollution is a sin against Gaia.

In Islam and also in certain Christian belief, alcohol use is a sin. The theology of single use is similar to that of sin causing alcohol

Stupid people of Europe. They and North America do a fantastic job at garbage pickup and recycling and ARE not anywhere near a major source of plastic in the oceans.

90% of the plastic junk in the oceans comes out of ten river systems around the world;

Eight of them are in Asia: the Yangtze; Indus; Yellow; Hai He; Ganges; Pearl; Amur; Mekong; and two in Africa – the Nile and the Niger.

And what will Europe’s ban on certain plastic items do to stem the tide of plastic in the ocean from the largest (90%) sources of it? Zip, zilch, nada.
