The Pittsburgh Public Schools board of directors voted unanimously Wednesday to approve a resolution opposing Chick-fil-A as the new corporate sponsor for the Pittsburgh Kids Marathon and Kids of Steel program.
The resolution prohibits official participation by any district employee, as well as the promotion of the Kids Marathon and Kids of Steel programs at schools by district employees.
“The family-owned, privately held restaurant company has expressed views contrary to and in conflict with the district’s non-discrimination policies,” the school board resolution said.
Marathon organizers Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. in late September announced a three-year title partnership with Chick-fil-A, starting in 2019, for the Kids Marathon. The company will also sponsor the Kids of Steel program.
Chick-fil-A corporate leadership has been criticized for comments about same-sex marriage, as well as for making donations to socially-conservative organizations.
Earlier this month, an online petition started by a Pittsburgh-based consultant circulated to protest the selection of Chick-fil-A as a sponsor for the company’s “extreme anti-LGBTQ beliefs.”
The petition, started by Jodi Hirsh, the co-founder and principal consultant at Sequal Consulting, calls the partnership “unacceptable, damaging and offensive.”
The petition had 1,217 signatures as of Thursday.
Pittsburgh City Council members have also asked that the marathon remove Chick-fil-A as a title sponsor. “Chick-Fil-A’s sponsorship of an event designed to encourage healthy living represents a significant setback for Pittsburgh as we continue our work to build a more progressive and welcoming city for all people regardless of whom they are or who they love,” council members wrote in a letter signed by all nine. “Most importantly, its sponsorship sends the wrong message to LGBTQIA+ children and families who face psychological abuse and experience the effects of bullying at disproportionate rates.”

And, as you can see, all of the usual Democrat-controlled suspects are falling into line. To their credit the organizers of the Kids Marathon have not capitulated. Yet.
Sure glad the Pittsburgh School Board found time to deal with THIS instead of....oh, I dunno….fixing their broken-down crappy schools?
Tell the school board to go to hell.
One person got pissed off, and then started a petition and all they could muster was 170 plus signatures.

They’ll end up there anyway in due time and on their own accord.
And the school board knuckled under to that nonsense.
I pray the Good Lord blesses Chick-fil-A all the more. We are in more than troubled times.
All key players in education, and most school board members, are well-indoctrinated progressives (anti-God, pro-socialist, anti-Republican, pro-homo, anti-abstinence, pro-abortion, anti-free speech, pro-propaganda).
Thank you pubic school union teachers for warping and bastardizing our children, for decades. May karma find you all.
To the best of my knowledge, Chik-fil-A has never refused to sell a sandwich to a fudge packer.
Honestly, Chick-fil-A could simply walk away and save a lot of money. Let the Kids Marathon see who the true jerks ar on the Left.

What I find most troubling is that these are the ELECTED members of the Pittsburgh School Board who did this.
Pittsburgh was always a Democrat town, but it was always made up of blue-collar union Democrats who nonetheless embraced traditional (mostly Catholic) values. It’s unimaginable that Democrat-controlled school boards of the past ever would have taken this vote.
No more. Pittsburgh’s tech economy revival is importing scores of Millenial techies with San Francisco values. It’s ain’t your Babushka’s Pittsburgh anymore.
On the contrary: the decent people of Pittsburgh need to organize into a massive, powerful organization and go downtown and take over the School Board. You know, Occupy!
As opposed to promoting perverse sexual activity that leads to an early death from all sorts of odd infectious vectors.

Millenials are largely well-indoctrinated progressives, from pubic school through college, with media/social media augementation. Good little socialists, wannabe social controllers, Big Brother advocates.
