People naturally seek a foundation for their beliefs. Since Christianity is being sidelined by Europe’s cultural elite Islam is filling in that vacuum. Maybe even worse than Communism since Islam has staying power
I think it's staying power is a function of it being a religion.
Like communism, it leaves its followers in abject poverty, but in the case of Islam, these poor followers feel "holy" in the way that Islams tells them they are "holy."
Communists just feel poor.
