In 2018 alone, including the most recent carnage at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, there have been 47,220 gun-related incidents resulting in 11,984 deaths in the United States, according to data compiled by Gun Violence Archive, an independent data-collection and research group.
That breaks down to 157 incidents and 40 deaths a day and does not include 22,000 suicides. Of the total fatalities, 548 were children, while 2,321 were teenagers.

How many car incidents were there?
Apply this to cars and it is staggering in death, injury and cost. The anti-gun hysteria is pathetic.
Lumping gangbangers offing each other, accidents, cop shootings, self defense and all in one be mess is useless. That is the mindless crap that MADD harridans try to do, lump every accident into a DUI issue.
Using "children" and teenagers needs clear definition as the leftist definitions keep getting older. No more than a sympathy play most of the time.
BS propaganda outfit trying to hide their propaganda as "research". Sorry but what media and commercial sources would supply information Law Enforcement does have?
My reply to the gun grabbers is that Id be willing to give up my right to own a gun if the left gives up their right to kill babies in the womb.
I usually hear...crickets.
Beto says there are over 30,000 deaths from “Gun Violence” per year and we need universal background checks.
Takeaway suicides and shithole cities, “Gun Violence” doesn’t seem to be an issue.
As soon as you care about the slaughter of 1,000,000 unborn Americans every year we can talk about 47,000, 2/3rds of which are suicides and most of the rest are gangbangers killing each other and being killed in the act of committing crimes.
Reference to car related deaths, no argument from me....
Likewise it is a documented fact that most food related choking occurs while consuming solid foods, but no one is demanding all foods be Liquefied before consumption.
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website in 2015 (the latest year for which they post the data) there were 37,757 deaths from motor vehicle accidents.
In 2009, the National Safety Council estimated there were 10 million auto accidents in the United States, including those for which no police reports was generated..
In 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reputed that there were 6,296,000 auto accidents that resulted in a police report.
The number of auto accident fatalities increased by 7.7% in 2014, 8% in 2015, and 6.6% in 2016 outpacing the rate of increase in auto accidents that resulted in a police report by about 2% each year.
How many of those incidents were defensive and saved an honest persons life?
80,000 died of flu last year in US.
Get you a gun.
Just because I’m cynical
In a country of 330 million people those numbers don’t strike me as particularly important
I feel awful however, for the family and friends of those people who were murdered this morning
As Archie Bunker might have put it, “Hey Sue, would it make ya feel any better if they was pushed outta windows?” /s;)
Take out the urban zones and deliberately self-inflicted, and the gun numbers drop to nearly not noticeable.
