The real overlook story of the Midterm is President Trump is poised to have a much friendly Congress starting Jan 2019.
Given the large number of Never Trumper who have resigned, the next Congress, with an expanded GOP majority in the US Senate and a US House held by about 5 votes by the GOP, is going to be held by Congresspeople much more in tune with President Trumps agenda.

If you live in an open or jungle primary state, then I guess there is some virtue in being “independent.” Otherwise, you are just disenfranchising yourself, and by not being involved in party politics to whatever extent you can do so, you are actually part of the problem. There is nothing good about being an independent and allowing the soulless to run/own both political parties.

The only form of “identity politics” practiced by Trump at his rallies is united us as Americans. If the opposition sees that as “divisive” because they don’t identify as a Americans, there’s not much we can do to help them.
