No, its not about panicking at all. Its about preparation and showing resolve in the face of aggression. Why wait until the last minute to deal with serious problems?
As the old saying goes ‘hope for the best but prepare for the worst’. Strength and readiness are universally respected.
Finally, our military is being used for its intended purpose - to stop a foreign invasion.
The bottom line is that THESE INVADERS WILL NOT GET ASYLUM status, or any other “legal” status - whether or not they cross the border onto U.S. sovereign ground.

I hate to shatter your absolute confidence and iron clad belief but many of the invaders WILL get into the country. We will not turn everyone of them back simply because the administration will want to show some compassion for “legitimate cases”. The bad guys will be rejected because its easy to justify. This is how they will manage what is already becoming a significant PR problem. I don’t agree with it but just watch how this plays out. Its just the give and take of politics. Somewhat like how Trump played the FISA docs which he declared he would release, but never did. The much anticipated docs got pushed onto Horowitz who promptly buried them.
It really amuses me that anyone who questions Trump’s infallibility is instantly labled a troll. Mindless followers are what gets countries into big trouble. As Reagan said, trust but verify. A little skepticism is a good and healthy thing.

At their current rate of progress they will be our problem in less than 2 months. And what are you going to do then? Grab your hair and run around in circles? This invasion needs to be nipped in the bud. Their path needs to be blocked in Southern Mexico not when they get here. Try dropping a trailer full of rocks on it’s side across their path at a choke point that will slow them down. Cut trees across their path through the jungle. Each problem slows hem down and causes them to divert. Plus Winter is coming and when they get to it the dessert is cold at night. I am sure others have creative and non-lethal ideas.
The only reason razor wire and other physical barriers are effective in preventing the escape of prisoners from a maximum security prison, is because they are supplemented with other measures, including:
1) prohibition and confiscation of tools and materials that may facilitate escape, such as bolt cutters, weapons, explosives, corrosives, or other demolition or construction tools and materials.
2) around the clock stationing of armed guards authorized to use lethal force if necessary to prevent escape.
As long as the American people are unable to stomach such rules of engagement at the border, no amount of barriers or razor wire will prevent unauthorized border crossings.
If the military and other law enforcement are restrained from using physical force, what can prevent illegals from using bolt cutters, ladders, battering rams or even explosives to destroy barriers and cross into the United States?
It’s clear the military won’t use lethal force on unarmed illegals to prevent the destruction of barriers. So does that mean they must wait until the destruction is complete and then apprehend them?
Or can the military and law enforcement be stationed on the Mexican side of the barriers and physically prevent the crossing or prevent the destruction of barriers?
Will they be authorized to turn illegals away prior to crossing or will they need to hold them at taxpayer’s expense? How long will we hold them? Will our military be providing food, clothing and shelter, indefinitely?
What about medical and health care? What about education? Will American taxpayers be required to provide wifi and entertainment as well?
I think the American people need to do some soul searching here - a process that has recently gotten underway with the election of Donald Trump, but is nowhere near complete.
Trump is very wise to force “the conversation” by sending troops to the border one week prior to the midterm elections. He is making the elections about border control. But let’s be clear about this:
Donald Trump can use troops to start a conversation, but he can’t actually solve this problem with troops - only the voters can solve this problem - by electing representatives who are serious about controlling our borders.
The first shot that comes northbound will be fired by the invaders sniping one of their own, a Palestinian trick, which will be used to blame the troops for killing an innocent kid. And then they all will be allowed to enter as will the millions to follow.
That is one of the most cynical statements I’ve seen here in recent memory.

That is why we need the wall. It is one thing to not protect the border when their is no defense. It is another thing politically to try to dismantle an existing wall.
Once the wall is up it would be impossible politically for a Demoncrap to dismantle it.

I don’t worry about something which is likely not going to happen. As you referenced it is going to start getting colder and supplies scarce and it is only going to get worse. If there is another month or so of marching north, they will be starving to death in the middle of Mexico.
President Trump is taking the appropriate steps to deal with this but the way some of the FReepers are acting you would think the Mob is on our doorsteps.
There are not going to be any strikes inside Mexico or mass shootings of unarmed people neither are going to be necessary.
It is hard to know exactly how far away the Mob is one figure is 2000 miles another is 1400 another 800 so I will assume the middle figure is closest. At the current rate of 22 miles per day there is no reason to panic.
I have from day one said that Illegalism is the greatest problem facing the nation. That remains true and that is why we elected the President. He will take the appropriate steps to handle it.
