INSIGHT FROM MY HONDURAN HALF OF THE FAMILY ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION (Vanity)
My Family | 29 Oct 2018 | Salvavida

Posted on 10/29/2018 9:10:42 PM PDT by Salvavida

My Honduran-born wife uses Facebook to keep in touch with her family in Honduras. Many posts are her thoughts on the topic of the day, and immigration and politics are certainly represented in what she posts. A little about my wife, she served as an interviewer inside of a US Consulate in Latin America, and is thoroughly familiar with immigration law, the process, and the plight of those wishing to visit or immigrate to the US. She is 100% against illegal immigration. Why? Among other things, she also served as a finance officer of a hospital in Northern Virginia, and saw it change hands as a result of immigrants using the Emergency Room as their primary care, and the draining of the charitable foundations that are typically put aside for Americans that cannot pay. My wife gets it. She knows where blessing comes from: American hearts and their taxes.

Naturally, her family responds to the posts and I thought it might be informative to the readership to know the mind of an average middle class family from Honduras. Note that in the past 20 years, my wife and I paid for medical school, law school, and refrigeration vocational-tech school.

A. Here is a summation of the responses from various family members, I distilled them into these main ideas:

- 1. Her family is upset that she is not "in solidarity" with them, and my wife "forgot where she came from."

- 2. They assert the migrants just want to work and to flee the gang violence.

- 3. Hondurans cannot change their government-- it's too corrupt, so the US is their only hope..

- 4. They generally had no concept of how Americans thought about this-- they are thinking it's POTUS and a minority. (Comment- This is courtesy of the leftist press there as well.)

- 5. From their point of view, everyone knows friends or family members here, and know they live a life substantially better than they will ever have. So what has changed to cause a border confrontation?

(Hint: DJT's politics)

B. Here are implications that were not considered from their arguments:

- 1. Law breaking. The end justifies the mean, situational ethics.

- 2. No understanding of the concept of taxes (most Central Americans are not taxed- a Value Added Tax (VAT) is added onto most sales, nor the financial burden Americans have (welfare, medical, children's schools, etc) shouldered.

- 3. No respect for what Americans have built, and what was sacrificed. They want to partake because being poor sucks.

C. How are illegals able to stay (everyone knows this from the immigrant side, it's the Americans that need education):

There are no consequences.

No government form of ID is required to get housing.

No one comes after an over-stayed visa.

Access to school is free.

Saturation of pro-immigrant lawyers in the US.

D. Conclusion: The time has come to where migrants want your stuff, and there is nothing detering them. They have abandoned being citizens of their own countries. They are incapable of governing themselves, and being governed. They certainly do not think like Americans nor anything in which we value. Their system doesn't produce responsible, moral citizens. It produces a people that wants stuff. And they want it now.

The main thing I’ve gleaned from the CNN propaganda in airports is that illegal aliens sure drive nice vehicles, all newer models.

I’ve seen the “too corrupt” argument for years (lived in Cenezuela and Panama). Latin America needs to be reminded of what waters the tree of liberty: the blood of patriots.

I lived in Venezuela and Panama. Too many in Latin America are not willing to refresh the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Untied states does not need Mayan detritus.

To end the Corruption and American security problem, Hondorus should be invaded and a military governestablished to arrest and imprison the corrupt leaders and criminals.

Hondouras is as cancer that must be surgically excised

This!

My grandparents, both sides, came here in the 1880s or so. They had nothing. Escaped Ireland and Italy. They came here with nothing and got nothing other than what they worked for. They made a life here, before welfare, before any medical benefits. They had tons of kids who also worked. They raised kids who worked, many of whom didn’t make it past 6th grade because they went to work (other than my mother who graduated high school and my dad who joined the army air corps for WWII). It was so different back then because immigrants came with nothing and got nothing from the government. Even those who came illegally got nothing and worked for everything they had.

It’s different now. They come and get welfare/government benefits immediately. Also, my ancestors never voted for FDR, JFK, LBJ, etc. They hated the lack of freedom in their home country and didn’t want their adopted country to become what they fled.

It’s so different now.

It would stop if they weren’t awarded all the free stuff.

Immigration itself isn’t bad. It’s the drain on financial resources and the ideology they come with now. They come not understanding our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Frankly, it’s the democrat/socialist/marxist ideology the majority of immigrants, illegal and legal, seem to embrace.

Yep. Everyone wants their free stuff.

Back when my parents could get “government” cheese and other items, my father was totally against it. My mom’s argument was they were senior citizens and paid for it all anyway with working their entire lives. My Dad’s attitude, and my Mom’s for the most part other than the free food, was nope we don’t take anything for nothing. We have dignity.

Dignity is lost. IMO

And all of that is fine as long as they pay for everything themselves. That’s not happening here. And hey, anyone who feels sorry for them can pay their way.

I get medical bills, ad nauseam, that I can’t write off yet pay astronomical premiums for. I raised four kids without any government assistance for anything. They went to college and even with academic scholarships and financial aide (lol a joke) they and we will paying forever.

Everything we and our kids have, we and they have because we all work for it. They get nothing for being legal born white citizens of this country. Nothing.

So everyone else can cry a river, build a bridge and get the fuck over it as we have had to do our entire lives.

And every time another collection agency calls me pertaining to my youngest daughter’s kidney condition and her medical bills, I tell them to take the $50 or so dollars a month and be happy because they ain’t getting anything else. If she were illegal or otherwise a protected class, they wouldn’t get anything from us because the taxpayers, which we are, would be footing the bill.

This week my HR, public school district, said I can’t add my husband (family plan, kids were already added when I started) to my medical because I didn’t add him last year when it would have cost an astronomical amount. So I asked then why he couldn’t be added now when all the paperwork said he could and when I know many other people were added. Their answer was as long as I provided a letter from his HR blah blah blah it would be no problem. Because they intentionally mislead because they provide full benefits to “anyone” else.

I’ve come to realize it really is about working the system. I will add my husband with his letter from his employer ha and now our taxes will be providing his medical.

Yet illegals, welfare - generational welfare recipients, get everything free. My sympathy and empathy for those less fortunate than me is nada. Anyone who wants to pay the way for others have at it. I’m done. And my lack of church contributions attest to that.

America was a melting pot. Now it’s a tossed salad. Sad. That professor (although it was attributed way before that by progressives) was a marxist.

We used to be a melting pot. Now we have this.

The sheep can wake up all they want but election fraud is rampant and we haven’t done a damn thing about that.

But you’re right that Trump is the new fall guy for the dems and media.

But also, we were NEVER a salad. We were a melting pot but that has changed to the progressive “salad.”

No safety net of welfare. That is all it’s about for millions. There and here.

And we wonder why our nation has changed.

I wish that were true.

I’m a practicing Catholic and I no longer understand my Church in the USA.

There’s been a huge shift, imo, from what I grew up with to what is being taught now. Social Justice is huge now. It’s become the basis of all teaching. Political rather than personal.

They identify as majority Catholics. And they are from their countries. Fit right in here too.

Whether you think so or not is irrelevant. They claim to be Catholic. And the Catholic Church is leaning more left/socialist. Hispanics today generally come from socialist countries so that’s their ideology whether you agree or not.

Or just stop the free stuff, which would be far easier, then the churches could take care of their souls.

Sorta like Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Neither of which offer Americans the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. Be Careful.
