When you were one year old Christmas took your entire lifetime to arrive. When you were two it took half as long to arrive. At 80 it seems like ever ten minutes is breakfast.

Makes a lot of sense.
I guess the flip side is “this too shall pass” is VERY believable as we get older, when something bad happens.

No kidding...seemed forever to hit 16 and driving then 21 for drinking and driving! Later, no more drinking and driving.
