Wait a minute...
Just a few weeks ago, Democrats were telling us that drinking beer was a bad thing.

Forty years ago I was a Mess Sgt in the Army Guard. It was a Supply and Transport Battalion to an Infantry Brigade.
We had 185 men in the Company with some Headquarters Detachment attached to us and my mess hall.
We often ran and provided the NCO club facilities in the field for other companies that wanted to visit as well. It catered to all enlisted on annual training. We used a Transportation company semi truck to haul the beer to summer camp. In 74 we filled it.
We ran out of beer on day 7 and had to take off to a wholesaler and buy more.
As I was the Mess Sgt and was the backdoor source for ice, I never paid for anything in the NCO club.

It’s no coincidence that “Anchors Aweigh” is the only military anthem that specifically mentions drinking.

Really? Without Googling, what part says that? I've heard it dozens of times, but guess I never paid attention thinking it was the weakest military cadence hymn. Yet I could pretty much recite the Marine Corps hymn lyrics, maybe even much of the Army's hymn lyrics. Also, know the first to the Air Force.
What a pathetic former Sailor. Still, I yam what I yam. Got knot?
