Six San Diego-area military bases will be used to assist at border for Operation Faithful Patriot

Six military bases in San Diego County will be used as logistics hubs for supplies and troops to help with securing the Southwest border following President Trump’s announcement Wednesday that he would deploy as many as 15,000 military personnel in response to caravans of Central American migrants making their way northward.

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Naval Air Station North Island (Coronado), Naval Base San Diego and Naval Base Point Loma as well as Naval Air Station El Centro will participate in the deployment named Operation Faithful Patriot, officials said

“They have been identified as base support installations – staging areas for troops, for helicopters to land and supplies to be distributed,” said Air Force Capt. Lauren Hill at Northern Command in Colorado.

Military troops will help with planning, engineering, transportation, logistics and medical support to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, according to the Northern Command statement.

tary troops will help with planning, engineering, transportation, logistics and medical support to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, according to the Northern Command statement.

Tasks will include erecting temporary vehicle barriers and fencing and installing light towers, barbed wire and concertina wire. Temporary housing and meals will be provided and medical personnel would be deployed as needed for patient care, the statement said.

The new 15,000-troop figure doubles the number Pentagon officials have announced would be operating along the entire border with Mexico.

“We’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Control, ICE and everybody else at the border,” Trump said before departing Washington for a campaign rally in Florida. “Nobody’s coming in. We’re not allowing people to come in.”

No real reason for these folks to invade CA; they’ve already conquered the state.

Why did you try to talk her out of it?

Sounds like a great opportunity, despite her temporary impediment.

Essentially, our troops will support our Border Patrol but they can do nothing directly to stop the invaders. That is, until one of the unwashed masses hits or otherwise attacks one of our military. Then it's just self defense.

Except today, they said they’re heading to McAllen, TX. Just like I’ve been saying. The rules for getting in is the same for CA as TX. SD is too far. A week ago, one group was 500 miles from McAllen, so where the heck are they today? Crickets on that group.

Eh, I used to travel back in the ‘90s with a contractor who had diabetes and was down to half a leg. Airlines, rental companies, hotels, clients, etc., were all terrific. Really no different to speak of than commuting to work.

Now, would flights around the world have been good for him or her? I don’t know.

Didn’t the San Diego city council vote to boycott any company that contracts to help build the wall? Perhaps they can vote to boycott the area’s military bases as well since they obviously don’t approve of keeping invaders out.

But San Diego’s “County” Board of Supervisors voted against sanctuary cities. The County holds a wholly different view than the city council which is infected with radical Left, open borders members.

Yes, I know the city and county governments take quite different views. My mom lived in San Marcos until her death in January and my granddaughter lives in Escondido, so I kind of keep up. I’ve seen the makeshift camps in the undeveloped places, the lines of workers at Home Depot, and the seeming explosion of people wandering the streets with all of their belongings in a shopping cart. Not just in SD but also in North County.
