He’s right, but the comment will likely have its greatest affect boosting Dim turnout (in my view) in places like Texas and in tight GOP incumbent races in California. I also thought that to be true about his 14th Amendment comments. The time to say it was after the mid-terms, not before. I think it too could maybe increase Dim anger more than GOP support and possibly boost Dim turnout over it as well. Being right is not enough in political campaigns; you have to win.

I watched it. I thought he said rocks. The military should treat rocks like a gun. He also said some Mexican police and military were injured pretty badly.
Anyone ever hear of a guy named Goliath? He was killed by a rock slung by some guy named David.
Under most normal police rules of use of deadly force, a thrown rock or one in the process of being thrown can be considered as lethal force.
I really think tazers would be a better idea.
I am watching the replay of the President's announcement, with following Q & A session, right now. Here is ALL the President said about throwing of rocks and military shooting:
Journalist 1: "(unintelligible) firing upon any of these people? Could you see..."
President Trump: "I hope not, I hope not. It's the military. I hope, I hope there won't be that. "
President Trump: "But I will tell you this: anyone throwing stones, rocks, like they did to Mexico, and the Mexican military, the Mexican police, where they badly hurt police and soldiers of Mexico, we will consider that a firearm. "
President Trump: "Because there's not much difference, when you get hit in the face with a rock, which, as you know, it was very violent a few days ago, very very violent, that break-in, it was a break-in of a country. It broke into Mexico."

Well, since we just had one border agent killed, and another seriously injured, by rocks used by illegal immigrants, I think it makes sense.
Nobody is going to force them to throw rocks, that is their own choice. Trump is clearly informing them of the consequences, so they can’t say they are not warned.
