I'm concerned about this because, while I'm not familiar with the vagaries of New Jersey voting, it seems to me that the fact a voter has received an unsolicited mail-in ballot should not disqualify him to vote in person. It appears to me that this is some sort of scam designed to turn away voters of certain [ahem!] political persuasions.
I would be interested in knowing whether other New Jersey voters have undergone a similar experience.
Good turnout in NJ 7th district (Lance), at my polling place which is Red......
All this mail-in, early-voting crap needs to stop. The Dems pushed it because of the potential for voter fraud, which they continue to exploit.
We need a constitutional, one-day election with, yes, some absentee voting capability for the military and those otherwise away from home.
Yes, the New governor of New Jersey signed a law, shortly after he took office, that REQUIRED the county voter registrars to send mail in ballots to everyone who requested one for the 2016 general election, AND to consider such persons as PERMANENTLY on such a status unless and until the person takes action with the county to say they do not want to always get a mail in ballot.
The law left was weak on instructions to counties on implementation of the law. At a minimum counties were to send mail in ballots to those who got them in 2016, and include a notice concerning contacting the county to tell them you were opting out. (I got one).
The other parts my county included was (a) a deadline for notifying them, and (b) if you show up to vote at your regular ballot place, YOU CAN VOTE, but it will have to be on a paper provisional ballot.
I have no choice but that is what I will have to do.
At this point I trust the voting equipment more than I do my Democrat controlled county doing the counting of the provisional paper ballots. I suspect that the Dim governor felt the same way, only he was happy about that and expects to use fraud in counting of the provisional ballots to keep Menendez in office.
