Pop superstar Taylor Swifts endorsement of Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen failed to persuade the great people of Tennessee on Tuesday.
The race was called for Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) at around 8:05 pm. She handily defeated her Democratic opponent, former Gov. Phil Bredesen, whom Swift gave a full-throated endorsement....

Folks from Tennessee weren’t born yesterday, like that Taylor Twit.
May she go to Canada and weep with the other rat losers!
LOL.
So true.
Huh?
Her Reputation tour broke the record for the highest grossing concert tour by a female artist in the United States.
Do you know what record she broke?
That would be her own previous 1989 tour which was at the time the highest grossing concert tour by a female artist in the United States.
She made this peculiar endorsement following the final show of her tour.
Her core audience was adolescent girls, 11 to 17 years old.
They grew up.
She didn’t.......................
I don’t like her music much but her business sense has been stellar. I also respect that she writes all or most of her own songs.
She would have been wise to keep silent and keep people wondering where she stood.
Taylor Swift needs a ticket on the Dixie Chicks’ bus”.
So the painted up party doll got a “swift” kick in the ass? Good, because she really is an insufferably arrogant narcissist, who apparently has not the “right stuff” to hold a man.
(My best Nelson voice) Ha-Ha! I hope you spent a butt-load of money!
Perfect!
“bowls”
Oh lawdy...I thought I’d misspelled boobs. I AM getting old.
Taylor was not too swift, getting into a political fight with the President and feisty Senator- Elect Blackburn.
She has a history of choosing bad men.
This was really one of the most peculiar celebrity endorsements I've seen.
Taylor Swift, much beloved by fans on both liberal and conservative squanders so much good will by breaking her longstanding policy of political privacy to endorse an uninspiring old white man who stood little chance of ever winning.
And for what? Did she really care about this race? Today she's the butt of jokes all over the internet. A career full of wins, this is the first time she's lost and people can't but help get their digs in on her.
This one never made much sense. She had nothing to gain.
I think Taylor was told by the powers that be "You like being Time's Person of the Year? You want all these awards? You still want to be in the club? You need to endorse a Democrat this year, otherwise when your Record Label ends, no more American publishers, no more stadium tours, nothing".
Taylor's endorsement sure didn't sound like her, if she really felt she had to do this I was expecting "but I love all of my fans and this doesn't change a thing".
But because everything, EVERYTHING is political. Conservatives bad. Can't associate with them in anyway. The Elites don't want Taylor making us people too.
This was the ultimate lose-lose for her. I pray this is the last time.
I went to both 1989 and Reputation concerts.
They were milestone events. Taylor has had nowhere to go but up.
She made this peculiar endorsement following the final show of her tour.
Because she knew how divisive it would be. I think she wanted to lessen the damage (and the impact on the tour of course)
I agree. I think the pressure on her may have been from the star community too. I think that her career was hurt by it, probably getting mail that people are no longer fans after years etc, kids crying, etc, that she can use that as fodder to tell the pressuring folk to LAY OFF as she is never doing this again, cant disappoint her fans by taking ANY sides. Tell the audiences to go vote and leave it the bleep at that.
