Apparently prosecutors aren’t supposed to have opinions on cases.

There is no valid reason as to why he should have to recuse. On the other hand, Rosenstein and Mueller...

"... he should recuse ... given that he has written opinion pieces ..."

Well now, that sounds like solid logic to me!

And he should certainly recuse himself, as soon as every single Congressional Dem who's ever publicly said anything negative about Trump, similarly recuses themselves from all House / Senate investigations into Trump or anyone else in his administration.

I believe the washington pest should recuse from publishing. It is a waste of both innocent trees and computer bytes.

Translation: he is NOT a pre-arranged member of the deep state, who is there to shackle Trump, as Sessions was.

"given that he has written opinion pieces in the past about the investigation, and is a friend and political ally of a witness."

Yet letting Hillary's friends and political allies handle her criminal investigation was just peachy. Heck, the Attorney General was having secret meetings with her husband - another friend, witness and longtime political ally.

...about whether he should recuse from the Russia investigation, given that he has written opinion pieces in the past

Yeah, as soon as RBG recuses herself from SCOTUS cases regarding the executive branch.

Good! The lesson EVERYBODY should have leaned from the Kavanaugh hearings is if you stand your ground and tell the Left to cram it down their pieholes, they can’t do anything but b*tch.

Not surprised because he is likely to start prosecuting all of these crooks. That is why we hear shrill cries of Constitutional crisis.

FAKE NEWS ALERT!!!!

Why is this, too, fake news, even the headline? Because it assumes that there is a good reason for Whitaker to recuse, planting the seed of a false narrative into the public discourse. Not only is there no basis for recusal, but the lame “reasons” are just made up. Prosecutors are perfectly allowed to have opinions on cases they are handling. They are not judges who have to abide by a code of impartiality. Merely knowing a witness is likewise no reason for recusal, when the relationship is fully disclosed and bears no relationship to he interests under investigation.

FAKE NEWS!!!!
