24 Hours After Replacing Sessions, Whitaker Ends Asylum for Illegals at Southern Border
The Western Journal Conservative Tribune ^ | NOVEMBER 9, 2018 AT 8:33AM | CILLIAN ZEAL

Matthew Whitaker’s tenure as acting attorney general may only be able to be measured in hours, but he’s already made a huge impact in how asylum-seekers are processed at the southern border.

According to a new interim final rule from the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, those who enter the country illegally and are captured will no longer be able to claim asylum and will instead be returned to their country of origin on an expedited basis.

“Consistent with our immigration laws, the President has the broad authority to suspend or restrict the entry of aliens into the United States if he determines it to be in the national interest to do so,” Whitaker said in a joint statement with DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

“Today’s rule applies this important principle to aliens who violate such a suspension or restriction regarding the southern border imposed by the President by invoking an express authority provided by Congress to restrict eligibility for asylum.

“Our asylum system is overwhelmed with too many meritless asylum claims from aliens who place a tremendous burden on our resources, preventing us from being able to expeditiously grant asylum to those who truly deserve it. Today, we are using the authority granted to us by Congress to bar aliens who violate a Presidential suspension of entry or other restriction from asylum eligibility.”

Fifty years ago I was there in Saltillo (close to Monterey) and the bus ride to Saltillo scared the hell out of me.

So I’m to shut up and let people who really have no clue about what Sessions did while serving as AG continue to villify a great public servant?

You know, you’re pushing your luck.

You’re slandering everyone who realized that Sessions was an incompetent fool.

Name one person we know committed top level federal crimes, that Sessions indicted.

Yes, he did part of his job. He unfortunately failed at the most important parts, the parts that undercut the sanctity of our government higher offices, and the public’s trust in them.

Good grief. Take a look at reality, please...

My God! In my heart I know that Sessions is an honorable man and that people who are slamming him will be ashamed this year.

What do you think has been going on under the radar, with NO LEAKS because the leakers were fired or stopped?

Have you heard of Huber who has been overseeing 475 or so investigators and prosecutors, working on the crimes committed by the previous administration?

You think countless serious federal crimes committed by the previous administration should take 20 months or less from Trump being sworn in as president to trials and convictions?

Do people watch too much TV and movies or what?

If Sessions was bad, odd how he instantly changed from a courageous, principled and honest lifelong history

He changed once Comey showed him his FBI file and said,"it would be a shame if some of this leaked."

Wow.

So Sessions couldn’t have determined that Trump was the best man for the job?

Pence couldn’t have been happy to be on Trump’s ticket?

Someone else, not Trump has to be the savvy one, because we all know Trump is too stupid to be.

Man, you certainly lost me there.

I have too much to do to argue with people whose depth of understanding of what Trump’s administration has been doing in regards to the crimes committed by the previous administration is about one millimeter.

Wait and see.

“A shallow, media-informed comment..Trump really does play 3-D chess...”

OMG, a “3D chess imbecile” This discussion is over as having a rational one with misguided honyok’s of your mindset is virtually impossible.

Have a great day.

From the recusal on, this man was a failure in his position as A. G.

I Many of us defended him for more than a year.

He still had the opportunity to redeem himself.

He just never did.

A year or two ago some investigative journalist, a good one, wrote a book about Congressvermin. He stated that the cleanest one, who had absolutely no dirt on him at all, was Sessions.

If I can remember name of author and book, I’ll post it.

OMG, you are lost in space.

You folks have been touting tens of thousands of sealed indictments for a long time now.

What action has been taken?

This is nonsense.

What web page/site have you been sucked into?

Reality is a bitch.

Sessions was an utter failure.

I had a significant reservations that Trump would prove to be anywhere close to be as conservative as he made out to be. I however had very little doubt that Sessions would be a tremendous asset to his team as Attorney General.

I have no issue admitting that I was dead wrong on both counts.

Agreed. The only real way to end something that has gotten out of hand is to end it with prejudice quickly. You can’t be nice, gentle or patient.

“I am not a member of the “Hate Sessions” fanboi club.”

You’re obviously a member of the sessions fluffer club or Queer anon.

Most sane, rational, non-drug addled people knew exactly what that diminutive rat bastard was doing when he first recused himself in the face of a ‘russian collusion’ hoax. Single-handily giving the hoax legitimacy so the fakestream media could beat the President over the head with it. That was over a year and half ago.

Sessions picked Rotten Rod as his DAG. He spent the last 2 years defending RR’s reputation and character—Not President Trump’s. Sessions’ recusal in the face of a hoax, his excuse for his recusal, and RR’s appoinment of the mueller coup did not happen by chance. It was orchestrated from the get-go. The fact that Sessions remained recused while mueller did his gestapo raids on Trump’s associates, should have clued in even the most dimmest of bulbs on what he was up to.

America’s odds of surviving got a lot slimmer thanks to Jeff Sessions’ treachery. We probably won’t survive thanks to Jeff Sessions’ treachery.

Our elected leaders used to know this quite well. If we don't do all we can to protect our borders and our sovereignty then we will surly lose it all. We need to get serious about it now. This is nothing short of an invasion and it should be treated as such.

Whose to say that Whitaker hadn’t had this plan drawn up all by his lonesome and finally got a chance to implement it?
