For the second time in two years, the person who reported a written racist slur found on or near Kansas State University has admitted that it was a hoax, police said.
Officers on Monday received a report of a note using a racial slur posted on a door in the Jardine Apartment Complex, K-State police said Thursday in a news release on Facebook.
Upon questioning, the person who reported the incident admitted to creating and posting the note to their own door, K-State police said. The matter will be addressed in accordance with applicable disciplinary procedures.
The case marks the second time that police in Manhattan determined the person who reported an incident involving the N-word admitted to investigators that they fabricated it. In November 2017, Riley County police said that a man admitted he painted racist slurs on his own car.

These days, any time I see a "racially motivated" crime, my first thought is that it's a hoax.

The Air Force Academy had an incident like this last year. Someone left a racial slur on a bulletin board. The Academy way overreacted. The Superintendent had the entire school, 4000 students, stand at attention while he delivered a “blistering speech” about tolerance. My first impression was “false flag”. I was right. The perp was black.
I also think it's past time for us to admit to ourselves that there is really very little actual racism in this country.
