A majority of Germans say the level of mass migration has left them feeling “like a stranger in their own country”, according to a new study.
Presented as part of this year’s Leipzig University research into “authoritarian” attitudes in the country, the figure showed a rise of 12 points since the Competence Center for Right-Wing Extremism and Democracy Research tested Germans on the same questions in 2014, with 56 per cent of Germans expressing the sentiment in 2018.
Other findings from the 328-page study, for which 2,416 Germans were interviewed between May and July this year, were that 44 per cent would support a ban on Muslim immigration — a rise of 7.5 per cent from 2014 — with agreement higher in the nation’s east (51 per cent) than west (42 per cent).
Citing figures which showed that 36 per cent of respondents believe Germany has been “dangerously watered down” by mass migration, researchers at Leipzig warned in a press release: “We are seeing high levels of approval for the attitude that has been considered an ‘entry-level drug’ into right-wing extremism.”
Germany’s international public broadcaster, Deutsche Welle, reported on the study with some alarm, claiming figures showing 60 per cent of respondents agreed that Romani Gypsies were more prone to commit crime — 5 per cent more than in 2014 — and that this signalled rising “hatred” in the German population.
While more than 90 per cent of Germans said they were a fan of democracy, the rise in ‘xenophobic’ attitudes poses a threat to the democratic system, according to the study’s lead author, Oliver Decker.

Germans are supposed tired of this or fed up with that yet Frau Merkel keeps getting put back in charge over and over again. Every video I see is people saying Germans have had it or Germans saying they’ve had it but clearly there is a large portion of them still supporting this.
I was being sarcastic as the EU is all about open borders and it would be considered racist for any European to want to keep their country the way it is.
Merkel succeeded in diluting the German gene pool, torpedoing recovery.
Relative to the caravan of immigrants that want to cross our border illegally most are really economic refugees. Economic refugees have no legal rights to cross our border. Probably 10 percent are real criminals. Neither one are the problem of the United States! They are the problem of their own failed nations. They are not our problem and have no legal reason to be admitted to our nation with the exception of legal process.
If we do not stop this, these relative few it will become a tsunami of illegals across our border.
That is what the democrats want.
They themselves are to blame. I hope that when the blowback begins, the Left and included. Along with Angela.

I live in Spain, where the newly elected Socialist government put out the welcome mat for new migrants, even offering free health care and possible voting rights. I am trying to figure out which European success story they are trying to copy. Sweden? Belgium? France? Germany? It’s mystifying. Spain already has a lot of problems with massive debt and lingering high unemployment so you would think the last thing they need is more unskilled poor people. Apparently they have a secret plan.
Come to think of it I am an immigrant.

Merkel and the EU needed to show the world alternative soft power leadership AGAINST the USA. They got that, on steroids. Trump pushed them on NATO and they still haven’t fully ponied up nor will they ever. Left Russia invade or just plain have Europe without a war and those commie-lite socialists will no doubt have the full socialist lifestyle they desire in their Anti-God and Anti-Capitalists hearts. No free ride.
