ep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., beat back a challenge from dark horse candidate, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on Wednesday for the role of House Minority Leader, with Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., nabbing the title of GOP conference chairman.

The California lawmaker took a decisive victory against Jordan, bringing in 159 votes to the Ohio representative’s 43 votes. McCarthy was initially elected to the House in 2006 and has served as the House Majority Leader since 2014.

McCarthy "knows what he needs to do," said GOP Whip Steve Scalise, the Louisiana Republican who was gravely wounded in last year's congressional baseball practice shooting and unanimously won the No. 2 spot as minority whip.

“When Trump leaves the political scene the Rs will become a perpetual minority party.”

Maybe Trump should run in 2020 as an Independent and take his 63 million voters with him. What do we all have to lose? Anyone know if he can do that?

When Trump leaves the political scene the Rs will become a perpetual minority party. And it won’t bother them one bit.

This is how things are trending but who knows, the political scene is full of surprises. An economic depression, a 911 scale terrorist event? I will admit the demographics are against us. Illegal immigration is against us. The organs of propaganda aka The Media is 90% against us.

No new blood, but a new battlespace. I’ll reserve my opinions to see how this goes before launching judgments.

For the first time since 1960, I voted for a Democrat for Congress The Republican candidate, Newhouse, is a Never Trumper, pro Obama globalist.
Mr. McCarthy calling for more fund raising and better candidates misses the point of the election.
The Republicans failed to move the issues or support President Trump.
The problem is Republicans lack of courage and ideas.

Jim Jordan was on TV all the time. He was much better known than that POS McCarthy(Ryan’s bun punching partner).

The 159 that voted for McCarthy were the rinos and neverTrumpers in Congress that just voted to continue stabbing Trump in the back and cooperate with the dems.

We needed all hands on deck in the first few years to save America, these pieces of living shit in the republican party decided to torpedo the one guy that was trying to save her.

I LOVE this idea. He's have both parties to shoot at and the decent Rs would follow him and become the leadership.

Much worse. They’re a completely FAKE party. We have no representation in D.C. save Trump. Those pieces of sh!t threw the house to the dems ON PURPOSE.

“McCarthy “knows what he needs to do,” said GOP Whip Steve Scalise,......”

Horse crap! McCarthy is another effing Ryan as far as I can tell. The establishmentiers stick together as do Democrats. This is a blow to getting anything done. Ryan might as well remain.
