Neither an ally or a vassal is france. They are now beholden to their new slavemasters who clog the streets for daily prayer.
Stalin signed the non-aggression pact with Germany in the hope that England, France and Germany would get bogged down in the West. Obviously Germany couldn’t invade Russia, and also the three armies would be bled dry, making the continent easy pickings for the Red Army.
France losing so quickly basically neutralized Britain to the point that Hitler felt he didn’t need to invade Britain, so he can turn his attention to Russia. It allowed time for Britain to build back up and ultimately get the US into the fight.
If the war in France taken too much time, probably most Americans would have remained staunchly isolationist, and Britain, France and Germany would have been too weakened to stop the Red Army.
Europe was completely united in 1943. The whole of Western Europe was united under a single flag. Macron is apparently upset that the Yankees broke up that European Union in 1944.
I detest the French. Thankfully nobody will be speaking French in the next generation. They will all be speaking Arabic and saluting the Crescent flag.

It was von Ribbentrop, who was once German ambassador to Britain, who made Hitler hate Britain, even before Churchill took over.
We won their country from the Germans twice in a half century and gave it back to them. They owe us big time. Next time let the Krauts KEEP them!
