Optimally Judge-K is going to facilitate and charm SotoM into a Reagan Republican as far as Supreme Court Votes go. You have to think what kind of Cath Schools SotoM went to and the whiter much whiter Irish n Polish guys she lusted after way way way back then in NYC. Back when the Catholic Church was a major force in education in all these cold NE cities plus out to Ohio and beyond. Judge-K is her jr High school fantasy *CRUSH* come to life. I don’t know anything about Kagan’s opinions in that area, but I think she’s more ideological than Sotomayor but still may be not very attractive to the press for some reason. Kagan (born in my neighborhood, the UWS of Manhattan) was supposed to be the successor to Ginsburg, who is very ideological but apparently was not out to destroy her intellectual enemies. Everybody knew how she was going to vote so it wasn’t a big deal, and she wasn’t trying to kick their legs out from under them on their way down the stairs...

Everybody knows how Kagan will vote, too, but I just get the feeling that she’s not that good a fit.
