In a recent interview with the Spanish media outlet El Intermedio, Univision's senior news anchor, Jorge Ramos, was completely upfront in revealing his disdain for the sizeable segment of U.S. Latinos who vote for Republicans, including for Donald Trump.
When El Intermedio correspondent Guillermo Fesser asked Ramos to explain how it is possible that Republicans nationally consistently capture about a third of the Latino electorate (and in a prime battleground state like Florida, significantly more) Ramos candidly responded that these are the Latino voters who (evidently unlike himself, and Democrat voters) are "totally identified" with the United States, and who have socially conservative values that more closely align with the GOP.
SNIP
JORGE RAMOS, SENIOR NEWS ANCHOR, UNIVISION: There are people that feel totally identified with this country, that believe the same things that Donald Trump believes. If you vote for someone, you partially resemble that. And also that, among Latinos, there are very conservative values that are commonly held with the Republican Party, President Trumps party. The, the religious issue, the importance of family, the abortion issue. This explains, in part, why one out of three Hispanics vote for Donald Trump and is so conservative.
CARMEN ARISTEGUI: How do you explain...well, everything, but how do you explain the Latino vote? Something unnatural, something absurd, something that is not understandable, unless you have some sort of an idea that helps understand what is not easy (to understand)?
JORGE RAMOS, SENIOR NEWS ANCHOR, UNIVISION: I don't know what numbers you are looking at, Carmen, I've heard, but there's still some missing, that he could have attained 30% (of the Latino vote).
CARMEN ARISTEGUI: Oof.
JORGE RAMOS, ANCHOR, UNIVISION: This greatly surprised me, because Romney, with his 27%, lost four years ago. The only way to explain it is (that) immigrants or the children of immigrants that forgot their origins, and then, of course, you have to be very honest here.
ETC...
Hispanics who support Trump identify as Americans and have rejected their own race.
“Hispanics who support Trump identify as Americans and have rejected their own race.”
Shame on them for being insufficiently racist.
I bet he’s plenty spooked about that rally that took place in Tijuana today in which people said Trump was right about the migrant caravan.
La Raza racists still wanting to refight the war between Texas and Mexico.
You lost. No reconquista of the Aztlan wet dream.
Oye Ramos...chinga tu puta madre.
You got part of you screen name correct Fool
“No reconquista of the Aztlan wet dream.”
They are winning
Mexican is not a race, but you are right, Latinos who voted for Trump are Americans of Hispanic desent. Americans. Period.
So Ramos, who has dual citizenship even though he took the oath to
“absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen” finds fault with our ideology of Individual Liberty and Economic Freedom.
Here’s my surprised face...
They believe it is their land.
The Hell it is.
When it comes to Hispanic ILLEGAL ALIENS storming our borders Jorge Ramos and Geraldo Rivera seem to think we need to welcome them with open arms and welfare benefits.
What’s being ignored is the Mexicans still lay claim and teach it in their schools to our southwestern states which Jorge supports.
Like people from all over the world who, after a generation or two here, primarily identify as Americans? I know my family heritage in great detail and, while it is interesting, I am an American, period.
I used to work in customer service with a guy named Rodriguez. One time I needed help with a Spanish-speaking customer who spoke no English, and called on Rodriguez for help, only to find out that he didnt speak Spanish. If Rodriguez had needed help with a German-speaking customer, I would have been no help to him, either.
Orale!
Maybe the Hispanics do not wish to be identified as people from Northern Honduras (aka former Mexico).
Ramos is a wannabe Caudillo, and he is p*ssed that insufficient numbers of Hispanics want to kiss his ring.
If they don’t want to identify as Americans, they can leave.
My nephew married a woman from Peru, and she identifies as Latina, never Hispanic. They live in Florida.
This couple are reliably conservative, pro-life and Catholic. Both have Master’s degrees, so do not qualify as uneducated Trump voters.
Democrats trying to shame them are barking up the wrong tree.
My ancestors left Mexico and came to Texas when it was Spanish territory-before 1800-So I’m definitely an American-my race is Caucasian, my ethnicity is Latino/Hispanic-if I’ve rejected my ethnicity by being an American, have all Americans of Italian ethnicity rejected theirs, too? American Germans? American French? Jorge Ramos is a dumbass-when I want to watch a Spanish language program, I don’t watch Univision because of people like him-Telemundo has better narco mafia novelas anyway...
In other words, Jorge Ramos hates hispanics/latinos who have assimilated.
