Watched the game?
Offense for show, defense for dough.
A day late and a dollar short.
There is still MNF?
Two of the best young quarterbacks in the league leading two of the best offenses in the league. I sorry by Chiefs lost but it was one heck of a game, probably the best I’ve seen in a very long time.
Well, the new rules forbid defenses from tackling the quarterback, knocking a player out of bounds, incidental contact with helmet on an open field tackle, etc.
The only thing left, is to stand in the way, and watch the offence score.
“Did either team field a defense?”
yep. 21 of those points were scored by the defenses, and a whole bunch more were set up on very short fields as a result of turnovers recovered by the defenses ...
Lame. They could have claimed ratings were up due to anti-Mexican fervor and it would be just as illogical. The two teams, as well as New England and New Orleans are steamrolling everyone in sight so when they go head to head, it’s going to be a big event.
They made the National Anthem about the fire victims and the bar shooting victims. I did not see any kneelers.
It was one of the best games I ever watched. Too bad there was no defense to be seen! Now before anyone hammers me for watching, let me say this. Why should I allow protesters and miscreants to stop me from enjoying a sport I like? Why should I give up my freedom? Why should I let them win? I boycotted last year but realized I was only punishing myself. Stupid!
I did not watch the game (no NFL) but the griping here about defense reminded me about Doug Moe and Chili night.
As I recall, if the home team scored 150 points all fans received a bowl of Chili from Wendy’s. Moe’s visiting team was down by a large margin and the other team had scored over 140 points with a minute or so to go. The fans were screaming Chili, Chili, Chili and Doug called a time out. He told his team not to play defense and the home team scored over 150 points.
The league got wind of his instructions and fined him $5,000 or some other non-trivial amount. In his defense Doug said his team hadn’t played defense the first 59 minutes of the game, why should they start the last minute?
See my post #50. I served my country to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. Why should I give up my freedom to watch a good game just because of a few arseholes?
Super Bowl has been cancelled.
Now will be a best of five between Rams vs Chiefs.
Understand. It just offends me to the point I hate watching. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
THAT is good to know.
The extent of my backsliding is to watch highlights on YT, occasionally. Wow, what a game. But that’s as it should be when both teams come in at 9 and 1.

So the game was one of epic offensive mistakes, doesn't sound like good football.
Yeah I don’t want the NFL game turn into the Arena League.
“So the game was one of epic offensive mistakes”
only if you discount the 84 offensive points scored ...
