In a note to Judge Michael Aloise in Queens Supreme Court on Tuesday night, the jury wrote: “After deliberating for the entire day we are split. It doesn’t seem like we can make progress. We feel that we have exhausted all of our options.”
Lewis’ attorney then moved for a mistrial and Aloise granted it. “I’m inclined to agree even though it’s only been a day and a half,” Aloise said. “There were extensive deliberations. They covered issues central to the debate.”
Aloise then wished members of the jury a happy holiday before dismissing them.

Yes apparently the defense claims that the interrogation went a long time, and the only thing offered to the jury was the recorded confession. They say he confessed to it after brutal hours of questions. So, the answer to that is simple: provide the recording of the entire interrogation. At least to show how long it was and how “brutal”. Shouldn’t be a problem.
As far as the DNA evidence, the defense claims that when the dad found her body, that “contaminated” the crime scene. That’s such a crock it isn’t even funny. His DNA woundnt contaminate anything! It certainly wouldn’t contaminate with the suspect’s DNA!
Trump was right. You can kill somebody in NY, confess, have your dna under the victims fingernails, and still get a mistrial.

BTW, "Holiday" is just a contraction for the term, "Holy Day", i.e. "set apart for a sacred purpose". Sneaky how the truth seems to insist on being heard, even if never acknowledged.
This is New York City. The more likely question is how long till the perp is elected to office as a Democrat?

Civil stuff, okay, preponderance may work, that’s only money/property, but criminal is a big step up.

Of course must be unanimous. Need better prosecution and change of venue. Defense called one witness. Judge would not allow other evidence witnesses as didn’t want to trouble the jury???
When the courts do not support the citizenry, or worse, act against the citizenry on the side of criminals, vigilantism can result. Despite its reputation, vigilance movements are almost entirely peaceful, until pushed beyond tolerance.
They should not be confused with individual acts of revenge. Courts that result in individual acts of violence not being punished, encourage such acts. When revenge is successful, and carefully executed, it is rarely even noticed, as it is typical for violent criminals to meet violent ends.
